Looking back for silver linings, the Kentucky game...

as painful as it was, may work out after all for LSU. No doubt not going for it on 4rh and 1 was a mistake that Kiffin regrets and it seems he will not make that mistake again. The loss dropped LSU and many felt they were out of the playoffs. But, the team has gelled, Kiffin seems more determined NEVER to make that mistake again (as evidenced by the many gambles on his on end of the field the past two game). But importantly, other teams have also lost two games. We are still out of the top 12 in the polls, but we win out and that will take care of itself.
Two weeks to heal...two weeks to scheme against Bama is a blessing. For the first time in years, I think Bama will feel the heat and will Deboer and the players will have serious pressure on them in playing in Baton Rouge against a coach who knows what he is doing and a team coming together at the right time...they are the ones who will play tight IMHO.Throw in a night game in TIger stadium and let the Magic return!!

I appreciate your ability to put a positive spin on it, but that loss was in no way a good thing for us. We have no room for error now. It's going to be tough to beat both Bama and Texas back to back, then turn around and beat Tennessee on the road. Is it is possible, sure, but it's not likely.

i didn't mean to imply the loss was a good thing...it happened, and we can't go back. What I am trying to say is the team and Kiffin learned from it, and the lessons learned will only help LSU moving foward. I just think Kiffn will never make that mistake again...unlike BK or Miles who NEVER learned a thing and whose teams never seemed to really improve and gel tremendously as the season wore on

This is a shitty take

GTFO
Losing to Kentucky was embarrassing. There is no silver lining. Hopefully it doesn’t keep us out of the playoffs.

Kentucky has "embarrassed" 5 other teams this year. Like it or not Kentucky IS a good football team. WE are a good football team. WE are the team in the SEC that nobody wants on their schedule right now. Minus referee bias WE would beat Kentucky 9 out of 10 times right now.

I can’t figure out if I need to cheer for them or against them. The horseshoe has to fall out of Stein’s arse. Right? I read that they have had a plus two turnover differential in all but one of their wins - that will keep you in a lot of games. While their opponents are shooting themselves in the foot, Kentucky has had the time to overcome stretches of bad play.

quote:if they win 2 out of the last 3 then they’re basically a team of destiny with all the good fortune they’ve had. This isn’t the same as Indiana and their run last year. Indiana was at the top of the metrics and SP+ rankings. Meanwhile Kentucky at 7-1 and top 10 in the polls barely cracks the top 25 in SP+ rankings. It was cute while it lasted but now I want them to lose. They stand between us and finishing top 2 in the SEC

They’re 10 pt dogs against Tennessee and could wind up as the dog in Florida and Mizzou games too. Hope Tennessee beats them cuz we still get a shot at them and improves our remaining SOS. that matters more now with CFP polls coming out each week

Good point. Thanks i was looking for some direction when it comes to cheering for or against Kentucky. I’d rather them just go to the Gator Bowl.

I didn’t mind the loss to Ole Miss, as we knew how pumped up they would be for the game. I find no silver lining in that loss to Kentucky, as we had them on the ropes throughout the game. Kentucky will lose two more games.

Kentucky could lose 2 more games looking at their schedule
