But that’s the difference and the SEC has made it clear that said difference is what they’re hinging on.
But stating: Not withdrawing your name from the NFL draft and leaving collegiate athletics also makes them ineligible to return.
That's everyone else who has returned to date outside of LSU.

If the judge rules in favor of the players, lsu will play them. You are nuts, and weak.

Yes, LSU cutting contact with these guys and committing to not rostering them would immediately end the situation as it relates to LSU. IDGAF if the plaintiffs keep going.
How many times do you weak people need it explained?
If the players win this case and we cut bait they will name us directly
Sankey has screwed this up so badly that he has institutions liable directly
This has already happened with Mizzou

In Michael Scott’s voice:
“Double jeopardy”.

They are trying to find a legal way to get a federal court to overrule a state court, which means they have to find some federal law. It is a hail mary.
It is not criminal to file suit.
However, it is sanctionable to file frivolous lawsuit.

From live testimony just now in the Pyburn v NCAA hearing: Mr. Downton: Mr. Sankey, you’ve testified that the SEC follows all NCAA by-laws and incorporates them into your conference’s by-laws, which I appreciate, but did I just hear you say that as the SEC Commissioner, you don’t know what the current NCAA 5 for 5 bylaws that took effect 8/1/26 actually say? Answer: I don’t. It’s the first time I’ve seen this new manual
This is one way to know that he’s telling the truth. Nobody lying would actually say something that fricking stupid.

ZERO chance of recovery.

ZERO chance of recovery. Very easy summary judgment. Zero entitlement to the relief granted.
Totally a non-concern.

The distinction between us and Texas etc is a contract.

Thats not what Sankey said on the stand today at all. He never said it was a contract. He said camps, he said leaving behind college, etc.
And those other players absolutely signed contracts and got paid. Did these oversees basketball professionals play without contracts?
They also made up that "contract" rule AFTER the 5 for 5. It wont stand. period.

You understand that the Mizzou player won the TRO right?

quote:John Carmouche sits on the LSU Board of Supervisors, and was one of the 5 on the coach search Committee who selected Lane. By all accounts, he is a ruthless attorney, who holds grudges, and is very successful in his cases - even winning a $750Mil lawsuit against Chevron.
The new LSU regime is not going to get pushed around.
The SEC’s suit against LSU today was nit only garbage, it was near sighted and stupid. Good luck

No, they won’t. LSU has good lawyers.

This is most definitely cause for concern. And the fact that they have numbers of potential NIL figures form LSU just makes it easier for them to prove damages if we cut bait now

Go ahead, state the exact relief granted. Quote the order.

Nope. Enough to survive exceptions in state court or a 12b6 in federal court? Yes maybe.
Actual recovery? Zero exposure for LSU. LSU has NO obligation under any circumstance to these guys if LSU chooses not to take them based on NCAA and SEC court-upheld rulings.
Zero. None. Ever.

The latest court filing, if granted, would prevent the university from declaring Webb ineligible this year, declining to certify his eligibility, withholding any revenue-sharing or NIL compensation he is due to earn and, perhaps most importantly, withholding him from “practice, competition, team travel, or any other intercollegiate athletics activity during the 2026-2027 academic year.”
