I'm assuming his ruling will come after that.

Most judges would take something like this under advisement. Whatever he does is going to be appealed so he’s going to want to have a well reasoned ruling citing to authority. Wouldn’t shock me if there isn’t a ruling today

Women's soccer and volleyball already has 5 for 5 athletes playing in the NCAA. But nobody gives a shite about women's sports to make a deal of it

Yep. Unless he briefed his ruling before today like the Oxford judge did with Chambliss. Took a 20 minute recess and came back with an hour plus long ruling

This guy is from University City in Kenner. I coached him from 12 -15 in Dizzy Dean Baseball. Pretty good player, just couldn't hit for shite.
Went to Rummel, then Tulane as his Dad was a huge Greenbacker guy. Once he went to Tulane he took a far left turn (his Dad was nothing like this. Salt of the earth who would drink beer at the playground after games and practices)
Now he's at UTa. When I used to be on Facebook, I argued incessantly with him. Thank God, I got out of that cesspool.
Anyhoo, he hates LSU with a passion and has a substandard HS education, so take whatever he says with a heavy, HEAVY grain of salt, he's irrelevant.

He has to rule on the injunction today, no?

If he’s going to take the preliminary injunction under advisement, he’ll have to extend the TRO. Which in and of itself telegraphs where he’s at.

Frankly, if he hadn’t made his mind up on briefing alone in this one he’s a low IQ moron. Which, admittedly is a possibility because he’s an elected judge in EbR

So the SEC is attempting to sanction LSU for complying with court orders and if we dont comply, then we get sued by the player.

They are actively threatening LSU. It’s starting to look like Sankey is actively trying to coerce LSU into violating the injunction which sounds like a criminal matter.

I agree with you in most cases, but I'd be surprised if there is no ruling today.

This happens all the time in litigation and it’s not really indicative of anything

But injunction hearings?

The brothers Johnson and other idiots up there notoriously take anything that requires reading more than a Dr Suess book under advisement—but for injunctions?

It’s practically the only procedural vessel that shouldn’t be eligible for delayed judgment

They are trying to find a legal way to get a federal court to overrule a state court, which means they have to find some federal law. It is a hail mary.

It is not criminal to file suit.

I’m Incredibly aware of how often bad judges use advisement to make decisions.

I don’t think that’s practical here.

And yet posters are confused why we wont "drop" something that we didnt start? When these players win the injunction, NCAA/SEC/LSU will be sued for not rostering them just like the player in Missouri is doing. So the SEC is attempting to sanction LSU for complying with court orders and if we dont comply, then we get sued by the player.

It’s amazing how few people understand this.

LSU hasn’t done anything. There’s nothing for us to drop.

The SEC is mad that we’ve signaled that we will obey a court order.

They’re being insane and all we have to do is prepare for Clemson

No, but contempt of court is.

Sounds contempt-y to a non-lawyer.
