People keep saying " They can't pitch for long" Brother none of these guys are playing professional baseball. This is it. They will throw 200 pitches tonight if it gets them a W

I remember some guy for Stanford , I think, pitching a super game 1 with +100 pitches then returning for game 3 with +150.

pretty sure that was UT I think in 2009. Had a guy throw well over 200 pitches in the weekend. The NCAA should absolutely have rules to stop coaches from potentially ruining a kids arm for life just to try to win a game.

Exactly, as soon as we stopped being aggressive at the plate we start sucking. For the hitting guru Jay needs to figure it the frick out.

Their pitchers are actually so bad that our players don’t know how to hit their slow balls

Stanford's Quinn Matthews threw 156 pitches against Texas in 2023.

It’s not about who they have remaining, because they have no arm talent that should be effective against LSU. It’s about whether LSU can actually hit the ball against anyone right now. They haven’t done it consistently all year.

LSU had 11 hits last night. More hits than Little Rock. It's not about "can" LSU hit the ball. Clearly this team "can" hit the ball. It's more a question of "when" we get the hits. We loaded the bases twice with only 1 run to show for it. That was the offensive problem.

But last night was more on our awful P and 11 free bases. it's hard to win games against anyone with 11 free bases and 8 of 11 scoring. that needs to be much better tonight.

it’s one think to throw 158 pitches

it’s another thing to wake up 3 days later and throw 50
more.

and a whole other thing to throw those 50 pitches well

Jay Johnson is not starting 96 mph throwing Anthony Eyanson. Stop.

No, but we could bring him out of the pen as a stopper or closer, if necessary, for an inning or less.

Of course, but that poster has been shitting all over every thread implying that Jay should start Eyanson because Skip used to throw guys more often 40 years ago.

I get how an inferior team can get on a hot streak hitting where they just have that intangible mojo thing going on. But not so with back end pitching, right?

I'm not a baseball savant so please educate me, those of you who are.

11 bases on balls by LSU pitchers. They didn’t make it very difficult for LR.

I live in Little Rock and they have a guy in their bullpen that hasn't pitched since Feb that was nursing a blister all year.

Supposedly he threw a scrimmage against the AA Travs a couple weeks ago and shut them down for 5 innings so I think LSU is done too.
