6 starters is over half the damn unit man. And several of those guys were really really good players. That’s impossible for any program to replace still in season
So LSU backups shouldn't be able to hold Houston to less than 28?

People who are good enough to play transfer and play.

So you have you’re 1s and few heavy rotational guys and then some really young guys.

and you build your 1s every year.

there isn’t a team that loses Moore, Haulcy, Whit, Wes, Perkins, Pyburn, and Reliford and doesn’t take a significant step back.

Clearly not man you watched the game and saw the level of player and how base and conservative they called everything.

And like everyone else said Houston was game to get their 10th win in front of a home crowd with zero opt outs. They came out to COMPETE and win the game and they did. Credit them, losing sucks but LSU played poor enough to lose

WTF? Are our backups not considerably more talented than UH starters? Quit with the excuses.

You must not be familiar with Brian Kelly roster configuration

You are correct and I didn't say otherwise, but the opponent was UH not Oregon, Miami, etc. I know they were ranked, but at that ranking they just have to put some team there.

and the thing that separates high levels teams from UH is that LSU has 6-7 really good players.

take ALL of them away and the playing field is more than leveled

OK, so let's accept that it's more level. Should they give up more than 28 to UH?

Then you should know the answer is no, our backups aren’t better than UH starters.

The LSU backups have practiced with the team all year. Another excuse.

You either very young and ignorant, or just have a football IQ of about 12. And probably an overall IQ around 35.

The schools listed in my OP would be ecstatic if LSU’s 2nd team defensive players committed to them.

Texas Tech wouldn’t shell out 5 cents for Dylan Carpenter or Jardin Gilbert

I'm much older and my IQ is estimated as 67-70. I can tie my own shoes, thank you very much.

That’s not how college football works anymore.

Could our D tonight, with the talent on-hand, have out performed any of the other teams' defenses?
