PM: Walker isn't ready for the workload of a start.

Also PM: Walker is starting Wednesday.

I get your point, but how else would they stretch him out?

The ONLY reason Walker isn’t starting Sunday is because he isn’t stretched out enough. Per PM

The season just snuck up on us?

It's just a weird dynamic. If he needs work and you actually want him in the 3rd spot and you're going to let him get starts anyway, what's the harm in these first weekend starts vs easy competition? Like you said in the other thread, we have 5 games a week to get anyone work.

So what message does this send? To me, it's just that PM wants/thinks Hill is the better 3rd guy and will continue to be so putting him in that role early to get him accustomed before a team like Texas.

I don't have a problem with it. Who would if the coach is trying to get his team ready and he thinks these are the top 3 he trusts? I just laugh at the reasoning and am a little sad at what it means for Walker.

Saul Garza hit a ball off the scoreboard during batting practice today, leaving a black rectangle on the screen.

"Did he break the board again?" Paul Mainieri asked.

I was worried when i saw walker was slated for sunday instead of saturdays.
If he is right (like 2 years ago) then he is not getting overtaken by jaden hill. He must still be struggling or hasnt been able to build stamina, or god forbid is still hurt.

LOL at the know-it-alls on this board who think they know more about the players than the coaches do.

Also, i see broussard batting 2nd because PM unfortunately wants him bunting, or the vintage hit and run.
Smith should be batting 2nd to 4th IMO.
Also, im fine with dups 3rd, but if memory serves me correct he isnt a big OBP guy. He doesnt get alot of walks

Who's making that claim? My argument is that they do know more and simply aren't sharing that knowledge directly.

Dude will put the baseball program into the red all on his own with repairs to Alex Box.

I don’t think so. Broussard was either our best, second best, or third best hitter going into conference last year before he got hurt. I don’t think he is in there just for bunt or hit n run

How much would it cost us to put a net in front?

When he likes a player, he's less harsh.

Per James Moran per PM

- Four innings for Zack Hess
- Three, maybe four for Eric Walker
- 80/90 pitches for Landon Marceaux and Jaden Hill

If this is the case, this tells me they are giving Hill an opportunity to beat out Walker.

A net? Come on now, he needs a wall. Maybe we should hit up Trump to campaign for an acrylic wall in front of our scoreboard.

MAKE SCOREBOARD GREAT AGAIN

Don’t like letting the freshmen’s pitch count get that high. How many times do we have to watch a freshman’s arm fall off at the end of the season bc they aren’t used to the work load?
