Going out on a limb. Woodward is 2/2 with prime time hires. Smashed it with Mulkey. She hates losing and can build a dynasty, similar to what Pat Summit did at Tennessee. Johnson knows the baseball tradition, and the expectations that come with it. Lsu baseball is still the top program in the country. Scott Woodward hiring Lincoln Riley is a no brainer. Getting a jump on recruiting into the SEC before Oklahoma and Texas join the conference is key. Yes, I know Sark was the OC at Alabama, and is familiar with the league. But, was he the final decision maker? No. Gotta believe Riley wants that edge. Scoop up HS kids in Dallas/ metro-plex, Houston, and dominate in Louisiana. Besides, has anyone seen or heard from him doing anything silly, like Kiffin?

I don’t see any logical reason for him to leave OU

He has no ties to OU. He can come to LSU and get a head start in the SECw. Come to a school with a lot of tradition in the SEC already in place. 2 years removed from winning a NC.

Especially now if Caleb Williams continues to perform the way he performs. That defense of there's is crap though.

I think I saw that he makes 6.15M

Either way, dude is about to get PAID! Whether Scott calls him or not, his agent will put it out there.

Either LSU pays him 8.5M or OU does. But, he is gonna get a big raise.

They're joining the conference VERY SOON. Getting a leg up, and coaching an elite program that's been on the conference is key. Otherwise, him staying in Norman will be, along with Sark puts them behind. Ever heard the term, "if you can beat them, join them?" Plus, how many qbs have won or been to NYC for the Heisman while he's been there? Alot

I agree! There are many who want Kiffin. Ole Miss, and Oklahoma play a base Swiss Cheese defense, then go into the vaunted 1980 Saints prevent

Didn't he already turn down multiple other offers to stay at OU and is good friends with the Stoops'?

You're not wrong, but he could join a team with a long history of success in the SEC by leaving a team that constantly gets its shite pushed in by the SEC.

But why are his teams constantly getting their shite pushed in by the SEC? No defense...how does him coming here fix that, and more importantly do we want someone who can't put together a defense?

You saw OU at their best 2 years ago. That’s it. They won’t win it all. They don’t have the talent pool. Come to Louisiana and keep the talent and coach them up and you compete for championships. End of story.

The only real selling point to come here is that he will have a much stronger recruiting base. Oklahoma as is has to fight for Texas recruits and typically don’t win that when it comes to defense.

If he wants a title, it is more likely to happen here in his tenure than Oklahoma.

Jordy Culotta was pushing Napier really hard on his show this morning. Remember, Culotta has a direct line to Woodward because they're long-time family friends, so he's probably either got inside info or being used to send a smoke screen. Hard to know. But he was all up in Napiers nut sack this morning.
