I don't understand the use of the crown of the helmet its clear that was not the case. And really white does not launch, quite the contacts he pushes and then pulls up.

He made contact, not forcible contact. bullshite call and completely against the spirit of why the rule was created.

Correct. The way the rule is written allowed the officials to screw us.
Nothing can be done about it this time.
Re-write the rule to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Targeting should be intentional targeting of the head and neck area.

I feel like this call’s defenders are trying to use a Jedi mind trick on us. Just saying something is so, doesn’t make it so. You’ve got to justify it.
If White’s hands/helmet had hit Fitzpatrick in a) the head, or b) the neck, which would be about 8 inches higher than where they were, I might say you have a legitimate point. But all you’re doing is repeating the same thing the red said.

I realize he “led with his hands” but he did make forcible contact with the head and neck area (see image below).
To me, forcible contact is when a safety keys in on a wr coming over the middle and tries to take his head off. Forcible contact is not when two helmets just so happen to touch as one player shoves another.
I think even by the letter of the law, that’s a dog shite call

Then this call needs to be made about 5 times a game in every game in the country, because this kind of hit happens all the time, and worse.
Maybe DWhite should have launched at Fitz’s knees and ended his career instead. I guess that’s what the NCAA and SEC wants?

Saban creamed in his drawers after that ejection

Eat shite and shite it out then eat that shite, you piece of shite.

Your “letter of the law” argument holds no water unless the rule says “...shall not make forcible contact with one’s hands to the breastplate of the defenseless player’s shoulder pads.”

If you think that call was correct then anything you say is worthless when it comes to football you can not be taken seriously...

So how was Baja not flagged for targeting in the Tennessee game?
Posted on 10/21/18 at 9:32 am to UliKunkel
Lol stfu, that was a textbook play on how to not get a targeting call. White could have speared Fitz there if he wanted.

If the Bama player was suspended as well for far worse then I may be OK with it.
Bama, once again, got away with a hit that may end a kid's season.
That is what frustrates me.

You can freeze frame just about every play in a football game and suspend somebody if that's how it works.

You’re correct. Any opinion that this was a bad call (or a bad rule, frankly) is purely emotional. You can’t do this in football anymore, and if you can’t figure out how not to do it, you can’t play.
Posted on 10/21/18 at 9:37 am to UliKunkel
If he made forcible contact with his helmet, why didn’t
Fitzgerald’s head snap back at all?
Fitzgerald’s head snap back at all?

I just read the rule, the whole thing, every word of it. I have pretty decent reading comprehension skills. It was NOT targeting. It just wasn’t!!!!
