I rewatched the game and he was getting blown up can we sub him for Hines at this point and go with Wire, Ingram, Hines, Bradford, and Dec

Seems like a decent guy, hard worker, but LSU is not competing in SEC trenches with a transfer from Harvard

Rewatch the QB sneak again....yikes.

The OL version of DJ Welter.
All the brains just none of the talent and athletic ability.
2019 National Champion LSU relying on a fricking OL transfer from Harvard 2 straight seasons. Yikes

If your recruiting is good, you shouldn't have to rely on that caliber player in the first place.

Seems like an awesome guy/leader though so I hate to trash him. He'll be successful in any field other than professional football after LSU.

I’d rather have our most cerebral guy at center. We need it with the poorly-timed OL coaching change and rookie OC

sooo looking like t bob back in 09? poor t bob got blown up that year.

how'd Hines look during your rewatch? serious question.

Having a weaker center works in a power running scheme because he usually is able to double team with a guard and work to the next level.
In a zone blocking scheme, it's mostly one on one match ups. Pretty damn hard to run an inside zone when the middle of that zone gets pushed 3 yards into the backfield.
In short, he is really messing up our ability to run the football.

It truly is remarkable to see just how BAD LSU's OL recruiting/development has been under O/Cregg.
The OL struggled last season. Yet, apparently, there was no one besides the starting 5 capable of stepping in. They were awful vs. UCLA and STILL, apparently, have no one ready to play outside of the starting 5.
It took Bradford three years to get on the field...for about 8 plays.
K. Thomas appears to have a better chance at winning a SEC high dive championship than playing meaningful snaps for the football team. Same for Thomas Perry.
Charles Turner has JUST gotten big enough to step on the field. Everyone cheered when Marcus Dumerville was signed. But at this point I'm not even sure he made the trip to Los Angeles.
At least it looks like Dellinger MIGHT be able to step on the field as a true freshman. Which is good news considering he was one of TWO total offensive lineman LSU signed last year on a team that appears to be desperate to find ANYONE to can play OL.
Recruiting is an inexact science. You're going to "miss" on some guys. But it appears Cregg defied all odds by evidently missing on (almost) ALl of his signees. And he (allegedly) committed NCAA violations in doing so

They tried Hines and went out and got shanahan, I would suspect Hines may have been lacking at being able to make all the calls/ adjustments, otherwise he’d be the starter now. I agree Shanahan is lacking physically and gets blown up frequently but it’s worse to have someone who can’t handle all the calls/adjustments because it jeopardizes multiple missed assignments.

I'm already having nightmares. Don't make it worse.

Ingram and Turner were worse than Shanahan against UCLA. They already tried the Hines experiment at C last year, didnt last long.
Shanahan really isnt the issue on the OL, while not saying he's a good player, he's a guy who can get it "done".

???
Ingram played like shite, but Turner was probably our best offensive lineman against UCLA.

Not sure why this lesson wasn’t learned from Andrew Hatch in 2008. Ivy League transfers do not belong in the SEC playing football.

Your not going to get a quality SEC linemen from the IVY league. That was dumb trying to make him the starter!! O should have gotten several 3* hawgs and tried to develop them instead of missing on 4 and 5* players.

well he was tired and out of shape, and had no idea who to block. What would you expect?
