Exactly. Miles does not get the credit he deserves. He had to play against top coaches every season - Tuberville, Meyer, Spurrier and of course Saban. His system while frustrating, produced results except with Saban. His teams never quit and were always tough

I think he will go down as the most hated former LSU coach, and it may not be close.

Not even close. Curley Hallman says Hi.

This is an understatement. We pulled our hair out. What I hated about it was the way inferior teams got to hang around. We rarely put away teams and our back up players didn’t often get meaningful reps.

In my opinion Les shite the bed in his last few years but he doesn’t always get the credit he deserves for maintaining a top-notch program

The difference in Les and Saban was post 2012 Nick modernized his offense and Les didnt/wouldnt…

Miles always had a dry, understated sense of humor - sometimes you would wonder if he meant to be funny, or if he was just funny by accident.

Lane Kiffin is in your face sarcastic and a world class troll.

LOL, apparently you didn't read his whole quote. Guys like u and FB think Miles quit after 1-9. You couldn't be more wrong.

Don't insult Les Miles by including him and cackling Kamala in the same sentence.

2-loss Les

No matter how stacked, how overly talented, Les always found a way to lose 2 games with horses all over the place.

It’s inexcusable LSU won only one title with the players he had. And at that, it was a 2-loss national champion. Fitting.

Les Miles’ national championship occurred only because the planets aligned late in the night on that Hawaii game.

Please do not disrespect Dave Wannstedt Day like that. :-)

It was the 2003 Sugar Bowl Bid that came down to a game in Hawaii, as strength of schedule was an official component of the BCS formula up to that point. Since Southern Cal had beaten Hawaii, a win by the rainbows would have been enough to put the Trojans in the Sugar Bowl over us.

It does make you wonder what Saban would have been thinking a year later had LSU not gone to that Sugar Bowl, not won a national championship, and thus, his "work here would not have been complete." Does he take the Miami offer under those circumstances? Does Bama make as big a play for him had he gone to Miami without a National Championship. Somewhere in the multiverse, an LSU fanbase knows.

2 very tough losses. A defensive screwup and a controversial penalty helped cause those losses. Add in a costly Trey Quinn dropped pass. Again…how is that shitting the bed?

His grass eating schtick was funny and endearing at the time.
