WRONG. I knew 2 of the coaches at that time, and they said he agreed to accept the Michigan head coaching position. Then, a sports writer (Herbie??) went public with the information and Les had to deny deny deny. There was an agreement in principle, just nothing concrete in writing...
Given how this is a different sequence from your first post, forgive us if we take your sauces with a grain of salt

Oh well, he was a shitty coach anyway who couldn’t adapt.
Shitty coaches don't win as much in the SEC as he did. Some of yall are just bitter haters.
He absolutely was stubborn and the game passed him by. But for a while he was right on Saban's level when it comes to results on the field.

Not sure why fans like to shite on former coaches so much. Only football coach to lead us to two championship games.
Paul Maineri too. Dont get it.
And a metric ton of success while he was here.

Not by great coaching but by the luck of the center noticing the twelve guys and Dooley being even more incompetent than Les. With out that horseshoe up his arse, Les loses that one like the Ole Miss game where the clock ran out.

Sucks for him, but could really care less. He was good for the most part, but not great.

Pretty amazing Saban lost to such a buffoon 3 times. And I assume you ignore all the lucky breaks Bama got against us when Les was here. That was just good coaching surely

What a joke is the NCAA

You can if you’re able to recruit, esp in a state like LA. Which Les was able to do.
But when it came to actually coaching, he was always awful. Guy survived off talent alone. I never cared for him and always thought he was extremely overrated.
The Tennessee collapse in 2005, the Tennessee game in 2010, the ole miss game where we spiked the ball with one second left on the goal line, 1/9/12. So many boneheaded examples of his horrendous coaching time here.

Recruiting is part of coaching. All that matters is how much you win vs how much you lose. You win a lot, you're a good coach. Anything else is subjective bullshite.

This is you being a bitter fool. He outcoached many great coaches before the game passed him.

Cool, do the game of the century. How about UF '07? How about Bama 2010? I could go on a lot more.

But the most successful football coach in LSU history. Les did refuse to adjust which lead to the end of his tenure, but the revisionist history angle is chickenshit.

Les always had comparable talent to Saban but he never beat him after the "Game of the Century".
Les always found new ways to give away a game that we dominated. He made every game a potential stress filled 4 hours even when it should have been an easy win.
He was a hell of a recruiter but he underachieved badly from 2012 until he was fired.
For every big and exciting win that he had each season, he would always throw in some anger inducing bed shitting.
As great as Florida and Auburn were in 07, the Kentucky and Arkansas games were unbelievable letdowns.
2011 was the greatest regular season I'd witness until 2019 and then we followed it up with not passing the 50 yard line in the National Championship game.
Les was given the keys to a Ferrari and although he didn't wreck it, he also never drove it more than the speed limit.

Could you though? Bama ‘10 is the only one I’ll give you here. Going for it 5 times against UF in ‘07 was just ballsy, that has nothing to do with great coaching. You and I could’ve been the coach and made that decision with sabans players and been successful.
There’s plenty more examples of his horrendous coaching than there are of his greatness.
