McMurphy found that the majority of the coaches used the word hungry, and two SEC coaches — Will Muschamp and Dan Mullen — used it. Mark Richt used the word ‘wow’, while Les Miles used the word ‘unknown’. I wonder if Miles used the word unknown as the actual description of his team, or if that was the first word that came to his mind?

Saying unknown isn't a confidence builder Sounds to me he is having a hard time turning over the keys to either quarterback.

"Unknown", wanna bet its's CLM taking a jab at the media for only talking about LSU lack of experience? I'll take that bet. He knows, Cam knows, Chavis knows, the team knows. Stacked full of athletes from top to bottom. Can and will win the fight with speed and an O-line and RB's that are going to punch you in the mouth!

i took it as nooone else knows how good this team will be. everyone is saying 8-9 wins while Les knows this team is capable of awesome things.

Nah, i means mothafricks don't know the triuble they are in for when running into those cats that lurk along the banks of the mighty Mississip

Gonna be a lot of this sentiment at Les' pressers this year, and over the course of the next several years until Miles rides off into the sunset.

We are going into season #10. By now we should all know Les doesn't give away shite. He fricks with the media. Les is now the 3rd longest tenured coach.

Sounds spot on to me. Lots of freshman, don't know who is starting at QB, replacing a good deal of players, and great recruiting class coming in.

Looking at it objectively this team is some what of am unknown this year, we will know a whole whole lot more once the games start.

Les is the coach. He's saying unknown. WTF he say that for in that context. Surely Les wishes he would of used another word to describe his team. FRICK if he don't know what this team is about after coaching all these years. Unknown my arse. He's been not praising this team since the spring. he's not putting no expectations on them. Which in my humble opinion means the youth on this team will be making tons of mistakes early on and this year is just a learning experience for this team. Losing all those juniors the last 2. Years has taken a bigger goal then most fans care to admit. The good news is next year will be a championship year.

Unknown to the outside or the perimeter, as Les likes to say.

He like us. He likes us in every game.

@ Spurrier--"decent." I find it interesting Miles and Saban had very similar answers. Clearly they're the 2 supreme ballers of the CFB world.

In the SEC? Behind Richt and Pinkel.

In the country, there are a few longer than him. Beamer, Riley, Ferentz, etc.

He also said this is his fastest team ever so Les knows what's up. To say your team is hungry is ok but that doesn't mean they will be good or even play well. It sounds good to the media but they might get fed a bunch of Magee, Hilliard and Fournette and not like it.

Les is being truthful in that you really don't know until you put it on the field. Every CFB team looks good in practice and a majority of teams think they can compete for a NC until they step on the field and get their butt kicked.
