I like Les a lot, I just can't see Kansas as a good career move.

It doesn't seem Les has much of a choice if he wants even close to a Power 5 conference job. Nobody has been kicking in his doors for 3 years.

In my perfect world, Rutgers fires Ash and hires Miles. I'd be so happy.

Whatever team hires Miles is getting one hell of a deal. Will he win 10+ games a year like he did at LSU? No. He'll win 6-9 games a year, pull some upsets, lose some games he shouldn't... but he'll build a solid program with rock-solid fundamentals and set things up for whoever replaces him in a few years.

Kansas would be lucky to have him, IMO. He'll put that program in a position to reach new heights when he's gone.

Kansas needs a young entergetic offensive mind. They don’t need a old father figure type. Maryland is the program that needs Les Miles.

Les is making $133K+ / month for the next few years courtesy of LSU's buyout. Just bought a new house in BR in the last year or so too. Conditionally he has to put his name out there to keep receiving the buyout, but I seriously doubt he really wants to jump back into coaching at Kansas.

What career does he need to be worried about? If he goes to Kansas, I suspect it'll be his last coaching stop.

I think its his best chance of being with an AD that will let him do what he wants... He and Long are tight, if he doesnt take that one, that means if he doesnt take that job, hes not taking any job...

“Les is making $133K”

And he is 65. I am hard-pressed to believe he has much interest in jumping back into the college football grinder at Kansas when he is pretty much sitting on Easystreet already.

Yea, how does it compare to your career. Miles makes more in a month than you will for the next 2 years. Coached in the NFL, then HC of 2 major college programs. Won a national championship went to another. Most successful head coach at LSU in their storied program. Will most likely sign a 4 year 15 Million dollar contract at the age of 66, but yea..what career?

Ninety percent of the programs out there would do well to have Les Miles come to their school. He would recruit well and coach well, particualrly with help on offense. He would give them a solid, clean program they could be proud of and he would be a winner most anywhere.

He’s still wet behind the ears, compared to Bill Snyder right down the road.

This is the only answer to me. I honestly can't understand why it's so hard for people to get.

The man isn't coaching until the LSU money runs out. All he has to do is dangle his name into the mix and give the media the impression he's trying to get a coaching job.

They'll end up hiring someone else.

Does Les have many options at this stage? I hope he gets it.

A flight from BTR to Lawrence is in route now. Flights delayed as it’s snowing here at the moment.
