As far as the brother getting fired, idk probably? I am not a lawyer, don't know how that stuff works on something that is completed, like just talks or whatever.
That whole client confidentiality thing is an issue.

I would much prefer Les/Aranda to Jimbo/Pelini.
This is off season thinking. And I agree...for now... in August. If we're still going 2 toss dives for no gain and an incomplete bomb down the sideline on 3rd down, losing to omiss, arky, and bama in November, ask me how I feel then.
This season's outcome will determine whether Lsu did right or screwed the pooch. There's way too much talent on this team to settle for mediocrity.

If true, the Gov stopped us from making a bad hire.

Jimbo would not have 'chosen' Pellini. Miles was fired, win or lose, until F. King told the Board and Alleva to keep Miles because of the budget crisis optics. The final decision was made late in the the game and Miles' wife was informed before Miles, who found out he still had a job in the tunnel after the game.

Nov 29 - HAYRIDE: (UPDATED) Notes On A F. King Debacle .. How the shite hit the Fans
quote:
Alleva and Miles met last week about the future of the program, “what direction does this go in if you’re still the coach?” and Miles agreed to open up the offense. But of course Miles now has the politicians and the school president on his side. In his postgame press conference Miles recanted “The motor (Leonard Fournette) seems to be pretty stinkin’ strong. A serious overhaul seems to be a little much.” So that’s the end of that.
The last 4 OCs all had high-powered offensive production on their resumes and saw that record go up in flames calling toss dives out of two-tight end formations for two-yard gains; the next OC can’t expect anything different. Serving as Miles’ OC is the closest thing to career suicide you can get in football.
quote:
It wasn’t Fisher or Sexton who blew up the deal that happened on LSU’s end, specifically F. King Alexander. Alexander didn’t want the appearance of committing to “$50 million” for football while LSU is in dire financial straits......It was all donor money so actual cost to the university for this change would have been exactly ZERO.
Dec 3 - HAYRIDE: Here’s Your F. King Explanation For The Les Miles Debacle
quote:
Alexander confirms reports that the final decision on Miles’ future did not come until after a halftime meeting during the Nov. 29 game against Texas A&M, though he says the decision had “pretty much been made” a few days earlier. Among those in the halftime meeting were Alexander, Athletic Director Joe Alleva, and several members of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
Dec 14 - ADVOCATE: Deal to fire Les Miles fell through as LSU president intervened
quote:
LSU players carried Miles off of the field, dropping him in front of a rocking student section at Tiger Stadium that boomed with chants of his name. It was a surreal scene. It got more bizarre about 30 minutes later, when Miles was told by Alexander and Alleva that he’d remain LSU’s coach. Kathy Miles, the coach’s wife, was pulled into Miles’ private locker room in Tiger Stadium and told the news: Her husband still had a job at LSU.

Very accurate!! Correct pellini was not coming here it was will muschamp as the d coordinator.

I am all for tom Herman but he ain't coming here.

I heard Fisher's buyout stopped it. It was 5 million and we agreed to pay the man 7 million a year. Alleva didn't have the stomach to pony up another 5 million. Take it FWIW

Well he actually might have meant Mischamp. He didn't say Pelleni by name, he said "former DC". I asked if it was Pelleni and he said "I believe so".

Only because he will already be the head coach at Texas.

Fisher no longer represents the future. Young 1st yr HC Tom Herman and his OC Major Applewhite would be a far better choice.
Herman is a great young coach and has awesome potential. But I wouldn't say he would be far better than Jimbo (at least not in a place like LSU). Jimbo is virtually tied with Urban Meyer as the winningest active coach in the power 5 conferences. He has won 84% of his games as a head coach, had an undefeated NC season where he knocked off the SEC in the championship game and had one of the longest winning streaks of all time at 29 games (which is unbelievably hard to do no matter who you're playing against).
Jimbo also has a lot of experience coaching in the SEC and knows the recruiting area since he recruited it before when he was at LSU previously. Herman looks awesome, but it's not like Fisher is old and washed up.

quote:WHAT?? someone laying down some truth. i'm no jj fan but, let's be honest, that game was more on the oline than him. an experienced line with multiple false starts? aside from just not playing well. something was going on and it wasn't qb.
Our oline was getting absolutely manhandled(giving up 5 sacks and 9 tfls) and JJ was running for his life. The answer to that problem IS NOT putting in a statue that had big problems handling pressure. You want a less mobile qb that doesnt handle pressure well and has a career 1td- 7int against bama?

"Miles will prevail"
If he wins a natty this year, he will coach a long time into retirement like coach Joe Pa at PSU. He and Saban would then become like dinosaur coaches like Joe Pa and Bowden at FSU in the old days.

Urban Meyer says hello and to a lesser degree so does James Franklin.

Don't forget Sanders as DB coach, Rice as WR coach and Brees as special QB consultant.

Nick Saban says hello. He left the NFL just to come back to the SEC. Urban left for "health" reasons (Nick Saban is not good for anyone's health). Spurrier went to South Carolina just to coach in the SEC again. Bielema left Wisconsin after three straight Rose Bowl births to coach a 4-8 Arkansas team still reeling from the Petrino scandal.
And we both know Franklin leaving Vandy doesn't really count because it's Vandy and he got way more money to go to Penn State (plus there was that gang rape incident at Vandy that he didn't really want to deal with).

we will see if Miles cares more about his Ego or the Lsu Fans--we will see if he truly bleeds purple and gold..
Yeah, ok.
Honest question, have you ever met the man?
Not liking him because of his coaching style or what have you, I could see that. I get frustrated with some play calls too but with that being said, saying he has an ego and insinuate he's better than everyone else, i.e. the fans, is ridiculous.
If having an "ego" is rappelling down buildings for money for children's healthcare, writing a note to, even inviting a LSU fan with terminal cancer to a game is having an "ego" then he can do it, as far as I'm concerned.
I've met him more than once and every time he talked to me it was like he's known me for years. Anyone with an ego would not do any of that.
I really don't understand the blind hatred some "fans" have for the man. It's really strange.
