Maybe that's why we didn't run any of the plays we practiced that week?

Laughing at people who think nfl coordinators NEVER leave their office during fb season.

1. Lsu, usually has a solid gameplan, inexplicably looks lost
2. Players complain practiced plays weren't used
3. Williams, who has unlimited dome access and is shady, consults with saban

Nothing to see here. Bama fans, tell me how to get to your world of rainbows, unicorns and lollipops

Soo..
Nick Saban and Kirby Smart went to an NFL coach, whose defense ranked 28th in the league, for his opinion on stopping the speed option (with which he had no experience)?
I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that Williams was of assistance to Saban on something OTHER THAN the speed option.
What other knowledge, expertise or information did Williams have access to which would have assisted Alabama?

The other question I have is what's the connection? Other than Williams being a GA at the university of Houston at the same time Saban was the DB's coach of the Oilers there is no apparent connection between the two. I just find it a bit strange that Nick Saban - the Nick Saban - would reach out to a coach he has no apparrent connection with for advice.

Williams guaranteed Saban that LSU wouldn't cross the 50 yard line with his credible information.

Look up the Saints games against Cam Newton & Panthers last season. Williams made adjustments to defend the spread option in the final game of the season while in the first meeting the option ate the Saints lunch.

He, like I, probably doesn't go to the recruiting board. You think the people on the Rant are fricking assholes, try asking a question there.

So the Coaching staff knew this and decided to run JJ option plays all night long?
LSU has some new plays from different formations. LSU lines up in new formations. Miraculously, Bama shifts perfectly to defend a play they've never seen. Thus, we audible out of what is obviously going to be a bad play.

Well in that "fantasy" scenario one would realize that at halftime Miles would say, "JJ the option ain't fricking working so don't fricking audible to it again. Understood?"

T Bob was not saying that "this" caused LSU to lose the game. He was simply venting that Williams helped Saban, something that both K.Smart & G.Willaims ADMITTED. The game announcers said the same thing. He then said that he'd recently heard new rumors to the effect that GW mite have given Saban more inside knowledge. He called them rumors & commented that he would have more to say after he investigated more. Smart & Williams both admitted that the help was specifically related to stopping the option play.As to GW's professional knowledge re same is debatable, but what is factual is that he did offer advice in this regards. Anything else is pure speculation & rumors & ranters feed on this type of stuff. And, yes, as one noted earlier, Belicheck has not won a SB since spygate. And factual as well, Saban is very much a Belicheck disciple.

Yes, the same way they can't accept that the sky is purple. It is pretty difficult to accept something that isn't true.

Case in point: 9-6

I suppose LSU fans could adopt the same attitude as alabama fans who got beat by the better team in November.
At Alabama.
who can forget that display of sportsmanship?

I accept it, posters like prominentwon have been looking for an excuse for 1/9. They have finally found one. Now they will ride it for 100 years. 100th ranked passing offense and 15th ranked running offense doesn't give it away how to stop us. Did anyone in this world believe that JJ was going to drop 200 yards passing? No they shut down the running game and we still kept running the ball. They knew along with everyone in the country that we can't pass.

Alabama was the better team that night. Not all year, we were. We dominated opponents with defense and special teams and decent QB play until Lee was benched.
