People would bitch about hiring Dave Wandstadt or Jimmy Johnson. John Robinson is a fricking legend how could having his vast experience hurt LSU?
Yep, this place is full of dumb Millennials, poor kids. They cry about anything. In 15 years would any coach be called “stupid, and out dated” if they hired Saban as a Shadow Staffer?
Get some perspective

You obviously didn’t watch that game. It had nothing to do with how Tua played. Bamas offensive line could not slow down Clemson’s defensive line all night. They lived in the Bama backfield. They may as well had already been back there when the ball was snapped.

Bama's OL couldn't stop 3 guys on Clemson's DL who had been a force all season. As far as "water bugging" his way around the big uglies, Clemson's secondary had that mapped out. They were aware of Tua's mobility.
Tua is an insanely accurate QB. I wish it wasn't the case simply because of the team he's on but he is one of the most accurate QBs I've seen.
Saban expected Bama to be Bama and it bit him in the butt. Tua was still accurate but like I said, Bama couldn't stop Clemson's DL. Couldn't happen to a better team.

Yep. Like I posted before, there is a small number of so called Tigers who dream that the day after we win our next NC in football LSU fires its HC. Pathetic but true!

Nobody has ever wished this, it’s just another one of their insane made up stories.

You’re correct, anyone who actually watched Bama and paid attention knows that healthy or not Tua’s play vs good defenses drops significantly. All season long the warning signs were right there in your face but people like the ones arguing with you were happy to bury their heads in the sand and just proclaim last years Bama squad as unbeatable and the GOAT in order to excuse our performance against them. The fact is Tua’s passer rating drops by a whopping 96.3 points vs good teams!!
His passer rating, comp % and TD/INT ratio in the 18 blowouts plus garbage time as a freshman.
Passer rating- 227.6
Comp %- 73.1%
TD/INT- 45-1
Compared to his numbers vs UGA twice (including the Natty) , LSU, State and Clemson
Passer rating- 131.3
Comp%- 58.3%
TD/INT- 9-7
FYI LSU held him to a passer rating of 129.5, Vs Clemson his passer rating was 145.2. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to beat that team, it’s time for the excuses and promises to stop and for this head coach and his offense to pull their weight.

But their QB’s weren’t playing on one leg. That helps a Dline’s stats.
Posted on 7/2/19 at 6:13 am to Buckeye Jeaux
Lol and besides those two games Clemson gave up zero 300 yard passing games and held 5 teams to fewer than 75 yards passing holding Pittsburgh to 8 yards passing. I repeat Clemson held Pitt to 8 yards passing, that isn’t a typo. They were also the #1 ranked defense in points allowed, #7 in passing TDs allowed (11 in 15 games) and 9th in completion percentage against, (48.7%). As usual you’re taking outliars and trying to make it look like the norm while ignoring the actual truth of what that defense did. Clemson’s Dline had 3 All-ACC and 2 All-Americans along with the top 4 ranked defensive lineman in last seasons recruiting class. They were the best and deepest Dline in college football last season by far.

Here is the relevant question, and not trying to flame. But, how many of these kids really knew Robinson and his legendary run. I don't know, but I think that is why many feel 18 yo kids today may not be impressed.
I think bringing such expertise and experience will only be a plus...others may not see it that way.

quote:My best guess is almost zero kids know Robinson. But that almost every HS coach in California holds Robinson in the highest regard. And a HS coach with a blue chip player will get deluged with phone calls from college coaches, most won't get through - but that almost every California HS coach will take Robinson's call.

That right there could open a pipeline to Cali...

He never was a good scrambler. Even at his healthiest, his passing was basically to launch the ball as far as he could in the direction of one of Bamas exceptionally good receivers and let them make the play.
He’s just not that good of a QB.

And yet Tua couldn’t. And don’t give me that “he was injured” bullshite because that’s just an excuse. Danny Etling played with a back injury. If he can do that, Tua should be able to play with a minor leg injury. If it had been a serious injury, he wouldn’t have been on the field. He had Hurts as his backup. There would be zero reason to play a severely injured Tua over a healthy Hurts.

Buckeye has a habit of making things up. Look at that ridiculous post he just made about Robinson and recruiting. The guy hasn’t recruited in 16 years and Buckeye is trying to convince people he’s the King recruiter on the west coast with the ability to freeze all California recruiting and have every other coach blocked lmfao. This guy operates like a child making wishes.

Continue to post this...seeing it in print it forces many people to see just how dump this idiotic suggestion is.
I kind of wish you could also record yourself saying it out loud to add emphasis to the moronic tone of this take.
Either way, please keep it up.

Some great takes in this thread.
- John Robinson's gonna bring in the croots.
- Saban doesn't know what he's doing
- Tua's not a good QB
Keep it going guys.

Holy shite... You're talking about Tua right now? Or Jalen Hurts?
