You never know. He could explode in year 2 like Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels……or he could be like Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee and show virtually no improvement at all over the course of 4 years despite numerous opportunities.

Nah we dont... you dont pay a player that amount of money to be "a year away".
If thats the case, they shouldve rolled with Longstreet or Clark if you want to use that excuse.
I think like 9 or 10 of the QBs that started in last year's CFP were first year starters for their team. Save that BS...

I think he is in year 4 of his college career. If he doesn’t improve rapidly and soon he probably needs to go elsewhere next year. What we’ve seen so far isn’t enough

Leavitt reminds me of Herb Tyler. Agile, quick, elusive. However, not great size, not NFL arm and not great accuracy

Sam L is a hell of an open field runner but not very accurate as a passer. Maybe the RPO route is the way to go with this kid. For pure passing ability I’d take Clark over Sam every time. Sam has a way to go to convince me he should remain our starting QB. Hopefully, if Coach keeps Leavette as our starter Sam will improve with his accuracy.

Burrow had Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Moss, CEH.
JD had Nabers, BTJ, Boutte, Kyren, Mason Taylor
Leavitt just has Green and Jones. He doesn’t have any WRs with sure hands.

So you are confident that he can stop throwing the ball into the helmet of a defender....not one that is jumping mind you, just a defender trying to rush. You have a lot more confidence than I do. Throwing skills can improve, but his improvement needs are not minor.

He really did pretty well in the second half, was 5 of 8 on third down at one point

His biggest issue is no spring ball and clearly not having timing with his receivers and not being used to game speed like he was at ASU. He's still not 100%. It’s gonna take time in the VR room to catch him up and that isn’t an overnight thing
