This is no doubt something LSU wanted to sweep under the rug but cat is out of the bag now.

1.) Is this legal?? I know that strict nepotism laws were passed in Louisiana a while back and do not know if they apply to this particular situation. It really does not seem like they are qualified for their position outside of there dad being the head coach.

2.) Shouldn’t their salary be public domain because they’re university employees?? I’d be curious to know how much they are being paid.

This whole thing seems really shady to me and is further proof of culture issues.

90% of coaches hire their sons. This is one of the dumbest posts I have seen.
I’m not saying it’s right, but there is nothing that can be done about it.

During the broadcast last night the announcer mentioned that 2 of Orgeron’s sons are on staff and that Cody has a spot waiting on him as soon as his career is over.

Two of Ed's son's are on the LSU staff and Ed said that Cody would have a job at LSU when he graduates.

Did the BOS approve their contracts? If so NO. Also you think Woodward didn't already know this and signed off on it?
Give it up. Ed O here to stay at least til seasons end. Buyout to large right now.

Cody Orgeron:

“I’ve got a job as soon as I graduate.”

also Cody Orgeron:

“Unless I play too well against my dad tonight, then he might get fired and I won’t get that job.”

Not suggesting in any way this is why McNeese lost, but it’s still creepy. Would have been better if Ed had kept that to himself.

Is that against the law?

O hired them while out on the boat off of Fourchon. Maritime law controls, thus no anti corruption remedy under state law.

Genius move, really.

If they are objectively unqualified then things can get hairy pertaining to current nepotism laws, it would probably be hard to prove any of it in court, at the least it can be chalked up to another nail in O's coffin.

The binder clearly states that we are to have the best assistants in the country.. I don’t think the orgeron son’s fit the bill. One has never coached football at any capacity.

At the end of the day..these Orgeron kids won’t have a job at LSU in a few months. So who even cares

If Eaux gets fired, do his 3 sons get fired as well. Are they included in the $21,000,000 buy out? Or do we have to pay more? Does it change if he is fired for cause?

Go read his contract. Specifically what it says about NCAA investigations and violations. this goes back from the day he was hired as an assistant. When he was hired as a head coach there are specific things in that contract that just rolled over into his new one. Those things are very important when you talk about buyouts. He will never sniff close to the amount (21). All you have to do is go back to the ban last bowl season last year and Cregg.

Woodward is not dumb and has set this up nicely. Ed will get hush money spread over many years kinda like Bo with NE.
