Yeah, I'm going to guess that if it were only bumps and bruises, he would have updated his fb status since last wed. ...
just a hunch, hope i'm wrong
either way, thoughts and prayers sent to Byrdman & his family

another pft update-
LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd remains in stable condition at the intensive care unit of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital after being involved in a car accident on Sunday while traveling to church. The NFL draft prospect has been receiving hourly CAT scans to monitor his condition, according to a source close to the situation.
Per the source, Byrd injured his shoulder and ear lobe and incurred several scratches and bruises on his face and arms. The severity of those injuries is unknown at this time.
Miami Central coach Telly Lockett told us this morning that he has been informed that Byrd, 22, is going to be okay.
Hospital officials have reported no change in Byrd’s condition since earlier this morning when he was listed as stable.
The Miami native has been projected as a second-day draft pick.

Hate to hear this. Hope he's ok and makes a full recovery from any injuries he has.

Songy reported about 20 minutes ago that he was in a coma. Crappy reporting if it is not true. Wish the young man a speedy recovery, he has a bright future.

I think this was a case of crappy reporting.
Come on, how can you not know the difference between being in ICU and being in a coma?
two COMPLETELY different things!

Why does Songy say "it doesn't look good" for D Byrd while other reports say he is going to be ok?

They don't put you in the ICU for bumps and bruises.

If car tires were made as well as motorcycle tires this wouldn't happen.

Can anyone shed some light on how often a cat scan should take place given his injuries? Hourly cat scans and icu doesn't sound great. I am afraid things are worse than they're letting on. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Not out of the woods yet... there's a lot of conflicting information out there.
I have reason to believe this injury is MUCH worse than recent updates indicate.

you don't go to the ICU for nothing (a few scratches, observation, etc)... ICU beds are held for critical patients with life-threatening conditions or injuries.... if he were stable he would have been transferred out of the ICU into a regular hospital bed.

It's serious or he would not be having CT scans every hour. Head injury perhaps? Any Drs here?
