Over. I think our D will be good, but we have some big shoes to fill.
Not more than 20.

I say over, but just barely. I think d white will be electric at MLB.

Run defense will be better, passing def a little worse. Maybe generate more turnovers, which would be nice.

Under. That aTm game inflated that stat. Plus Aranda has mentioned that last year was more of a vanilla scheme since it was new to the players. This year he'll have much more installed.

I'll say under because if our offense turns out to really be good under Canada, that means our time of possession will increase significantly, which translates into less time our defense will be required to be on the field.

Plus the rotation in our front seven is going to be significantly better, the pass rush also should be better as we have a wealth of riches when it comes to speedy rushers, and our inside linebackers, although both will be first-year starters I'm thinking they will also be better than last years duo as well.

Finally, I think our defensive backfield will be close to as good as last year's defensive backfield was and it should be because I believe our rush should be significantly better this year. Anyway, any deficits in that department should be more than made up for with the improved front seven and linebacking core play. So again I say under slightly.

Not to mention, that this is also Dave Aranda's second year.

We are usually pretty damn good at TOP already, I don't see it getting much better.

I agree it's exciting to see what arandas 2nd year looks like. I don't expect much drop off of any.

Don't underestimate KT2 or DJ1

Adams is a big loss but Battle is a dude and maybe a freshman can step up like Adams himself did in 2014

QB play in the SeC will. be better this year. Our DL should be the best it's been since 2011. If the DB's can play well this D is going to be nasty. Rashard Lawrence is going to wreck shite this year. Predicting about the same.

Over- Going to be tough to expect someone to come in and immediately fill the leadership/experience void created by the departure of Beckwith. Look what happened in the Florida game.Going to take time for the unit to become cohesive.

Beckwith didn't play against the best offense we faced all year in Louisville and they scored 9 points or so.

New guys are going to step up. We've been hearing this same shite for years. "No one will replace Drake Nevis!!!"

Why is it just Bama and OSU who can re-load? LSU can re-load too. Adams and White were great players but if we really are DBU act like it! We have great CB and Safeties... Are we not moving a 5 Star Safety to offense? Did you not see Grant Delpit all over the field in the Spring game or hear O and Aranda praise he and the new guys. Add Battle, Monroe and Paris and we are fine to replace Adams. We have multiple Adams' now

Also, what will make it easier to replace those 2 is that KT3 is the one replacing White and he is just a former All American who started his freshman year at LSU and had some problems to fix in 2016, which he has done. He looks in beast mode now as he packed on muscle and is even quicker. Look out teams throwing on these guys. Donte starts at other corner and is a returning starter and the faster player in Div 1 football.

Another thing that will help these guys is the front 7, especially all those studs at OLB like Key, Chiasson, Anthony, Thorton and Sci Martin and having the QB hurry throws and running for his life.

2016- LSU #5, 3,553 total yards allowed, 323 YPG, 16.4 points allowed per game

2017- I feel we will be about the same or a bit lower for the above reasons. I say 14.5 PPG lowest and 16.5 highest so Avg 15.5 PPG

Isn't Aranda going to have do the same thing at LSU next year with a bunch of three stars?

Over. Defense will be good but I expect them to be on the field more with LSU's new faster paced offense.

Just wondering what data you used that proves we have an offense that can move the ball?

39th total offense, 447 ypg, 800 more yards than lsu's offense had. 40 points per game.

These were Canada's stats from Pitt last year. Pretty good. At Pitt. With a RB that was good but also had cancer a year ago. Now give him guice and lsu's talent and let's go.

Slightly over...hard to replace guys like Adams, White, Godchaux, Beck and Riley now playing on Sundays. Amount of pure talent on last yr's DEF was profound!
Next year, IF we don't lose many JR's, UNDER!

over unless we have a 2nd lb step up and be all sec.

Duke Riley really was a huge part of why our defense was so good. we had a 2nd great lb to sure up the interior

This. We are going to be more up tempo on offense, which means more offensive plays for both us and our opponents.

I'd say over, 16-20 range. Not so much because of the departure of talent, I feel like we'll be nearly as good as last year towards the end but I think the offenses we face will be better this year. The QBs in the SEC weren't all that great last year, looking for that to improve this year. Not to mention if our offense does get better, our defense may be on the field longer.

Not only lost a lot of talent, but lost a lot of leadership as well. Can probably be a top 10 defense just not as good as last year, which is ok.
