Lol... We lost some key pieces, but those were replaced by talent. Talent that can/will shine in Aranda's second year here. His schemes should be fully operable...

Book mark this... I'll take a ban bet; UNDER. This year's defense will be BETTER than last years.

Over-
We will score so quickly that the opponent will have 5 more possessions per game.

I wouldn't even be mad if that was the case

Over. Another year with Aranda but it's asking a lot with a players seeing their first starting snaps. Still think it's easily under 20. I'd put it at about 17.5.

People are forgetting about this aspect.

I think the defense will take a bit of a step back with the personnel losses. I know LSU has talent, but it's not easy immediately replace two 1st round DBs (who also played significant snaps for 3/4 years); BOTH Senior LB's; and you best interior DT who was also a 3 year starter. However, aside from the personnel changes, I think you're going to see an offensive approach where there will be more total plays in the game.

LSU won't be Texas Tech bad on Defense (or anywhere close), but teams with explosive offenses generally tend to give up more points on defense as well. It's just the nature of the game. If you're opponent is scoring at will, you, on offense, are going to push the tempo/play calling to keep up. Defenses get put in a tough spot sometimes. Their offense is rolling so they may back off a bit in order to make sure the opponent can't hit the big play.

Over. This year's defense will be good but not be as good as last year's.

It will be different. Better up front, not as good in the secondary. I think the Dline is the most important part of the defense. It's not a given that when we look back at the end of the year, this year's defense will not be as good as last year's.

with LSU's new faster paced offense.

From what I have seen of Canada's offense is it isn't necessarily faster, it's more motion and shift oriented than anything else to confuse the defenses from what I've seen, but he can also add in tempo to also confuse the defenses as well. Nonetheless, longer drives translate into more time of possession, not less.

I think we'll be stronger up front even losing the guys we lost but I feel like we'll be weaker in coverage. Losing White and Adams will hurt us early on.

Over figure we'll avg. 18pts

Les Miles no longer being in charge of the offense is all the fricking data you need

LSU was 40th in TOP last year

Pitt was 47th.......

Our offense was not good under Les, but it wasnt the type of offense that hurt the defense

yeah that was it's one saving grace. even our 2014 offense kept our defense off the field

in 2014 only 8 teams had the ball on offense more(top %) than lsu

Pitt's 10th ranked Offense last year had a worse TOP than LSU. explain how you think we will have the ball longer.
