I would have had them both blitzing on the play to force Mond to make a quick decision and a bad throw...just sucks big time they are useless in no mans land
But I agree, I have them blitzing because I watched us blitz the shite out of Mond for 3.5 quarters, and he shite the bed virtually every single time. Then I watched us rush 3 from the last half quarter and 7 OTs, and he ate us alive. That is just something that just can't be explained.
If one wants to argue that the D is gassed, i'd say that's more reason to blitz.

They were protecting the ref, dummy. Notice the comma

Only 3 or 4 rushers in the entire ot periods pushed while Mond stood and waited for receivers to come open. No blitzes to squash him instead.

You give #5 a running start with your closest defenders near the goaline & their WRs turn & block & the game game is over.
LSU would have at least 3-4 dudes converging on #4 at the 10 yard line, I ask again, WTF are you talking about?
quote:How wrong you are.
What aren’t you understanding?
quote:And 2 LBs completely wasted on the play. Put those 2 LBs on the goal line and I'd beg for A&M to dump the ball off to #4 at the 15 yard line, we would have won the game easily at that point.
You already have 6 DBs on 4 WRs behind them.
Arguing that 2 dudes at the 10 yardline at that juncture of the game is just a fundamental lack of understanding of the situation there.

quote:Yep, and that's after basically 3.5...or 3.9 quarters of blitzing and Mond not having a clue of how to beat the blitz.

Who caught the td?

If he scrambles the game ends.

If he dumps it off to the imaginary #5 who stayed in to block the game is over also.
There is absolutely no excuse for 2 guys at the 10 yard line there, I have no idea why anyone would try to justify it.
They can do everything they needed to do to stop the scrambling QB or dump off to the WR while standing right at the goalline.

How much have you drank tonight shel? Be honest

So not a bad play by the backers.

Tell me how 8 guys dropping into the endzone can't stop a scrambling QB or a dump off to the RB at the 20 yard line?
You legit have no clue what you're arguing right now, as evidenced by you giving up on the facts to just argue about, "how much have you had to drink!!," such a useless line and post. This is about as defeated of a post as I've ever seen you make.
Do better.

What?
You do realize it was the last play of the game, right?

I posted about this right after it happened and got roasted. Good to see people have a different opinion after the game.

if A&M dumped it to the RB at the 20(mind you, he didn't even go out for a pass) there's no way 8 guys in the endzone could have stopped the RB from going 20 yards!!!

Phillips was out of place all night and usually is.
He has the frame and speed just is always in the wrong spot

I wouldn’t expect a tennis player to understand the best offensive player on either team catching a ball on the run underneath could be trouble if all your defenders are in the end zone in that situation
Btw both LBs are moving backwards at the time of your screen shot. You can do better

Screen, qb scramble, angle route

As the pass is being thrown.

And if the RB runs a wheel route, post or seam then what??
I’m glad you are afforded the luxury to know he stayed in to block. The players don’t know that. The guy has to be accounted for
