uhh, let him gain "big yardage"

If we have 8 in the end zone there is zero chance Mond can scramble essentially 25 yards into the end zone, you do realize that, right?

Sounds like a terrible call, no?

ok, just do it from the goal line.

2 dudes at the 10 yard line on a pass from the 19 while up 7 on the last play of the game is 100% inexcusable no matter how you slice it.

The real questions is why couldn't the 6 DBs at DBU stop 4 receivers? (at any point from the 4th quarter on, for that matter)

This was the worst fricking call of all. Either rush them or have DBs in the game playing in the endzone. DBs shouldn't have been within 10 yards of the LOS at the snap either.

Yep

We blitzed all game, Mond was lost and shite the bed all game.

late 4th quarter and 7 OTs later, we never blitzed and rushed 3 every time, they scored every time.

Explain that shite...

shel what if the RB runs a route to the end zone or into the middle of the field?

You have to account for the guy. He stayed in to block and the pass happened rather quickly. I don’t think the proper positioning to cover the guy starts much further from where our defender was. You let that guy catch the ball underneath on the run & its trouble

You can argue whether or not they should have spied Mond, sure.

Huh?

Then 1 of those 2 LBs who are waiting at the goalline easily can make a play on the ball, what are you talking about?

Trying to justfity 2 guys at the 10 yardline when the ball was thrown from the 25 there is just silly, why would you do that?

You can do that from the goal line.

How?

You'll have literally 20 yards to converge on the dude at the 10 yardline, no clue what you're getting at here, but you're wayyyy off.

You do when the only thing you are defending is a 30 yard TD. They actually could have been 5 yards deeper but otherwise they were in the right spot.

I would have had them both blitzing on the play to force Mond to make a quick decision and a bad throw...just sucks big time they are useless in no mans land

The right spot?

They could have defended the pass AND defended any kind of run by the QB, what in the world are you talking about?

If they're sitting right on the goal line, they can defend the pass. If they're sitting right on the goal line, they can easily defend a run by Mond. What part of that you are missing?

You give #5 a running start with your closest defenders near the goaline & their WRs turn & block & the game game is over.

What aren’t you understanding?

You already have 6 DBs on 4 WRs behind them.
