Lane wasn’t looking for a championship. He was looking for a Dynasty.

He realized he could possibly win a title at Ole Miss.

He could definitely win a title at Florida.

But he could create a Dynasty at LSU.

Saban had Bama.

Kirby has Georgia.

And Lane knew coming to BR could make him the first coach to ever do that here.

People say if he gets a title, he’s just another guy who won here.

But not if he stacks multiple.

He alluded to that when he mentioned Saban and Carrol’s ages when they took bama and USC jobs.

He is primed for a huge run.

Love your thinking. My health is going down hill. And I thought that we had a great chance for a run this year. But I knew by the third game, we were in trouble. So I was like , at least I got to witness burrow.

Now with kiffin in charge, I need to hang in there for 5 more years.

I agree. He legitimately could pass Saban when it’s all said and done as THE greatest in college football.

I've been saying the same thing to the people questioning this and the thought that he would leave LSU for another college spot. Ryan Day and Kirby Smart have 2 of the other 3 possible dynasty spots locked up until they retire. Both are around his age. You do the math.

The only other true dynasty spot is USC. However after what they did to him, and what Pete Carroll built there, why would he want to go?

I know people will mention Bama, but he wouldn't be first or 2nd fiddle over there. He'd be 3rd, and a distant one at that. Also, Bama is not the top dog coaching spot like many would want you to believe. Back with the old ways of doing things, they could get the good players and they had cheating on lock. And anybody with common sense knows Bama got away with all kinds of bullshite during Saban and Bear's tenures. Bama also has enjoyed the instability of other coaching programs around them. Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Tennessee all having 2-4 years each where they were considered great helped Saban to poach recruits with ease and stack wins.

It's literally the perfect time for him to build a dynasty and ride off into the sunset. Check that, he doesn't even need to coach here into retirement. Ten years, 3 national championships, and go to the NFL or Florida if he wants. He'd be a College Hall of Fame coach. He'd have his Pete Caroll run or Steve Spurrier run.

I'm feeling the same way about this. He is so emotional and refreshed. The way he spoke about the university, staff, and the Pantheon of Concrete and Steel was like poetry. He has thought about this before. He feels this is his destiny. He's done the NFL, he's refurbished a rickety team, now he's thinking legacy.

Zero chance he would ever go back to USC.

Exactly

My point is that there is nowhere else that makes sense that he would go. LSU is the top in college and I don't believe for a damn minute that he wants to coach in the NFL.

I know, I was just reiterating your point. Probably should have worded it better, lol.

How many coaches would have took the LSU job if they were coaching at OM. These two programs are not the same. LSU agreed to let coach finish the season.

Most of this circus was created by clowns in media

Florida hired their coach and agreed to let him finish playoff run and Playoff team handling it the right way by letting him coach.
