Faking injuries in game. Only thing I dislike about Lane.

This got brought up during the coaching search. And I honestly think it was much more about the talent gap between Ole Miss and opponents. I think with equal or better talent than majority of SEC schools, you'll see significantly less of this. Could be wrong, though.

This kind of ended now that there is an actual rule, with penalties, against it.
It is a shame that they had to make the rule. Western Kentucky was charged a time out during our game for a kid that was legitimately hurt, but went down after the ball was spotted.

Wasn’t that Lane’s point with the fake injuries? He was no fan of them with his tempo but pretty much stated he would use it to draw attention and get the rules changed.

Lane actually complained about the rule and then said ok, if this is what you are going to allow, then we will use it to full advantage.
I think he used it to gain advantage but also to teach NCAA a lesson.

Its the equivalent of Jay Johnson calling timeouts while LSU bats if they get a couple quick outs, in order to let his pitcher rest longer. It was not against the rules at the time so he wasn't breaking any rules.

Then you dont know the whole story. Lane runs one of the fastest HUNH offenses out there and other teams were doing the fake injury thing to his teams. He implored the NCAA to do something and they didnt so he said ok we will do it better than anyone. So, many people give the new fake injury rule to Lane.

Did you notice he didn’t do that at all this year? Because the rules got changed. If he doesn’t like the rules, he’s gonna frick around and find out what happens.

I did notice that! I don’t think it’s going to be a thing here, I was just saying I like everything else about him. I just remember being annoyed when I watched them do it in the past.

I will be honest, the SEC harped on this last year. UM did it far less this year. He adjusted to the rule.
