You keep saying you understand, but everything you say after that shows you don't understand.

Don’t be difficult. The team said will you sign for 1.5 million if we pick you. Kid says no. Team says OK we won’t waste a pick picking you. We will get somebody that will sign.

The fact that if you turn down someone in the second round offering to pay you $1.5 million, you might not get drafted at all or very late.

At that early point in the draft, a deal is probably already done before you get drafted. It's not like football or basketball, you can just go back to school.

Apparently you have your own definition of what an offer is and when it can occur.

That’s what I’m saying so there was no official offer. Glad you can comprehend that.

They are crazy if they turned that down to play for Paul Manieri.

Again, you are just being difficult. MLB can only give verbal offers before they make their draft pick.

Except that there was. See my post on conditional offers. I do not understand why you insist that an official offer cannot be made prior to the drafting of the player. That is exactly what happened here. And happened for most of the picks in rounds 1-10.

Teams in Rounds 1-10 need to know that those picks will sign. If the picks do not sign the teams lose the slot value from their draft pool. That’s why they are willing to enter into these deals prior to drafting the player.

There are a lot of picks in rounds 1-10 that don’t sign. Guess the players lied about how much they would sign for. Lol
