Mascona said on AFR his dad said it in a Facebook post. Says he turned down offers in the 2nd round and overpays in the 3rd. Says he turned down several offers in the 1.2,1.3 range and turned down 1.5
Said none of it was worth his LSU experience. He’s going to sign.

It appears several teams called and said "if you accept $1.5 mil we will draft you in round 2 or 3." He said no, not enough money. Not sure if you consider that an offer or not, I sure do.

Was he drafted? No so there was no offer to turn down that’s all I’m pointing out. Simple concept. Can’t wait to see him in purple and gold.

MLB teams before they draft somebody ( especially early ) will call ahead of time and see if they can reach an agreement on a number, Or at least to see if they are in the same ballpark. So his story makes perfect sense.
