It's exciting having him as a backup. Looked fully capable and athletic. Longstreet has a lot of potential too. Good times.

It's important to show the recruits that LSU has two very good young quarterbacks. The future looks bright so come and be apart of winning National Championships.

Kid has a release like a preying mantis strike - quick as hell. And he has some good running skills too (at least against whatever dregs Dabo had lett by then).
The only thing I worry about is his height - maybe it's me but he looked pretty short. That's not a knock on him though, he can still be successful in the right system (Diego Pavia says "Hi"). I don't know if he could carry the team if Sam were to suffer an injury spanning multiple games.
That's just my own unprofessional opinion.
Would have liked to see Longstreet get more replies, though.

Longstreet has potential but is still pretty raw. Clark has had some snaps, so he’s a little more polished at this point. Good to see both get snaps though

The good thing about both these backups is that they are absolutely getting better than they ever have been, and will probably both be able to step when/if needed

I thought it was just refreshing to see the backup QBs getting meaningful snaps and not just handing it off on dives.

You could not have spawned a better backup for Leavitt than Clark. They are so similar, and I think a year behind Leavitt will help him even more. That throw from Overstreet down the sideline was a thing of beauty too.

Have to remember it was against a defeated and tired Clemson D, but still looked great.

Yes, he did. I was worried about what would happen if Leavitt goes down. I don’t anymore. I think we are in good hands with Clark.

Take away the scrambles by Leavitt and Clark looked considerably better than Leavitt throwing the ball. That hitch in Leavitt's throwing motion accounted for 3-4 blocked/tipped passes imo, and could be a huge problem against real competition on short / intermediate passes. Leavitt looked much better in the 2nd half. I don't think LSU offense would lose much playing Clark from what I saw last night, just some wild scrambling ability.
