The police have come out and said La'el isn't and hs never even been a "person of interest". So everyone who argued with me on the first few pages about calling him an actual "suspect" can suck my e-balllllzzzzz!!!!!

I'm sure they asked him to do a paternity test just to give him peace of mind over what could have been his dead child....

His own lawyers called him an ex-girlfriend. It probably didn't help that it appeared he was ducking their calls for several days.

My only time interacting with the BRPD on a professional level can only be described as utter incompetence and indifference. Like you said, there are some good cops, but that organization is trash as far as police agencies go.

You know what I can't believe about this story? I can't believe BRPD took time away from inspection sticker checkpoints to actually investigate a murder.

They ran checkpoints all last week.

That's why he had to wait till Monday to talk to them.

What theory? That she is a facebook friend with Michael Clayton. Thats about the only theory his post confirms.

That is a fact, which is a basis for his theory.

The dude is just one long comedy skit through this whole thing. In a bucket of stupid, he has clearly floated to the top over this.

She was killed on the 24th. On the 25th the BRPD called him. On the 28th, when the news broke, the BRPD said they would still like to get "in touch" with La'el. LINK

Baton Rouge police homicide detectives "reached out" Saturday to former LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins about questioning him in reference the murder of his former girlfriend the day before, a BRPD spokesman said Thursday.

"We're looking to get in touch with Mr. Collins to question him about the (shooting)," Baton Rouge Police Coppola said Tuesday.

Actually, I am sure they asked the family who could be potential fathers, they said La'el, the police never thought he was actually a suspect but to follow all leads they performed a paternity test and asked questions. But in your little Matlock mind he was always a suspect

You were right that he wasn't officially named a suspect. And you posted ad nauseum about it. I don't know anyone that could read that didn't understand that he wasn't officially a suspect.

edit: If your past posts on this are any indication, I'm sure you will continue post after post about it again.

you haven't been right, though. i'll put things in simple terms for you. police don't ask someone to come in and take a paternity test form someone that is not a suspect. be honest, what exactly do you think the value in that was? so he could make funeral arrangements? secondly, no one is unhappy la'el is not a murderer. most people, including myself, who, from the beginning, said he was a suspect never said we thought or hoped he did it. at this point it seems fairly apparent that the girl's family told police he was the father, and they followed up on that. and yes, this royally sucks for la'el that he got caught up in all this for no apparent reason
