He was. So took some less than nice treatment back in the day. Sad situation. 2019 was so EPIC and then Crash.

ETA: don't know about Louisiana law but a double frick job is that he's already paid taxes on that but he will have to give her the gross amount(I suppose he will appeal though, or at least trey to negotiate)

I haven’t read shite about it but my suspicion is the buyout was paid out over time, so Ed hasn’t paid taxes on it like a lump sum.

still, in that tax bracket he's not getting any break, if that's the case the good thing for him is if he still owes tax, so she would be on the hook for 50% of what hasn't been paid, plus what he owes her can be adjusted for taxes that he may have already paid, unless as a previous poster pointed out, if the judge considers that alimony she gets off Scott free and he will pay all of the taxes

I agree it’s still a big bill, but just pointing out it’s not like he’s paid 35% taxes on the gross and still owes her half of it.

really depends on what kind of income to her the judge deems it to be, he's fricked no matter what

BS. Les did it to himself and should have been gone after 1/9/12. Stop looking for scapegoats for that dumbass. Saban knocked the lucky horseshoe out of his arse and he was done.

Les Miles took his Tigers to Tuscaloosa on 11/5/11 and beat little Nicky’s Gumps straight up on their home field, then beat UGa in the sec-championship game to EARN the right to play for the national championship.

Little Nicky’s team needed an Oklahoma State kick to be ruled wide and an ESPN-led media jihad to get a chance they neither earned nor deserved.

Little Nicky Kicked Les arse 21-0 in the championship and every time after. No one cares about Tuscaloosa or the the Sec championship. The game that mattered most was the BCS and Les crapped in his pants.

IDK. I’m sympathetic to wives that fully take on the homemaker identity, forego their career, perhaps education, and other aspirations to raise a family and support their husbands. It’s a shame they felt they needed to split, but they were a partnership through all of that- including the extension/buyout.

Without her support, would he have been able to coach LSU to a natty? He certainly couldn't coach for shite once she was gone.

He was able to give us 2019 IN SPITE of Kelly and her mess. She couldn’t hold herself together, was very bad off on pain medication for all of 2019 and she actually passed out in the suite during the national title game

how so?

Because his taxable income was $17 million, but it is being reduced to half of that. He will refile and get a huge refund, and she will refile and pay a huge amount.

Damn…

She cheats on him then gets 8 million dollars !!

I’m think “Coach O” will now pursue a college coaching job in the near future as IRS and Ex-Wife Kicked his Azz with the Buyout Money !!!

He has a New Family to Support !!
