He's been at Vandy for NINE years. How has no one been able to pick him up as a head coach? Hopefully, he's not the Brent Venables of baseball assistants

Sweet. Should be interesting to see if Paul plays him out the gate or not.

He needs to be the next head baseball coach at LSU. I feel like he has to be the number 1 guy unless you can get McDonnell or Tadlock

I suggest considering this list of six candidates who are obtainable...

1. McDonnell, who if he'll take the job is the no-brainer candidate. That said, he's likely a long shot.

2. Derek Johnson, who was Corbin's first pitching coach at Vanderbilt from 2002-12 and is now with the Cincinnati Reds as one of the hottest assistants in major league baseball.

3. Cliff Godwin, who's a very safe choice to bring LSU back to prominence if he's willing to leave his alma mater at ECU.

4. Scott Brown.

5. Andrew Checketts, the head coach of Cal-Santa Barbara for the past 10 years during which time he's eclipsed both Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton in the Big West. He's a pitching coach on a level with Johnson and Brown.

6. Dan Heefner, the head coach at Dallas Baptist who wouldn't be a "name" hire, but considering he has a tiny school who plays Division II ball in everything but baseball as the perennial champion in the Missouri Valley and a constant regional participant is exactly the mid-major coach who could step up to superstardom at a resource-rich program like LSU.

What is he like 43? At this point I’d say he’s waiting to take over after Corbin retires but at 59 Tim Corbin could coach at least another 6 or 7 seasons and being past 50 is pretty late to get your first head coaching job. It’s time for somebody to make him say no.

I say him, but it’s going to be hard to get him to leave the MLB

As much as they dominated LSU, Vandy got destroyed 14-2 by UGA tonight. UGA led 3-0 after the 1st inning and hit 7 homeruns during the game.

Idiot!

You have a point about not developing them, but the hurting them narrative is stupid.

Every week, d1 baseball has tweets/stories about pitchers having season-ending injuries.

It's fine if you want to get new coaches... but y'all making up crap needs to stop.

Travel ball rags out pitchers arms nowadays.

There' a lot of truth in that statement. OTOH, there are also outliers, like Hill who didn't play travel ball.
