A te caught a pass in every game last year. Miles also ciached the most productive TE in LSU history.
Smith was hurt most of last year. That's why he didn't play. The tes have been open under cam, used a bunch, the qbs just never threw it to them. Not just tes, multiple times LF open in the middle and Harris never looks his way.

Hats off to Coach Ensminger! He bowed up to a huge challenge and, like a Tiger, worked his butt off to help salvage our season. Made our Offense fun to watch again.

he definitely did a great job. and it could have gone really bad for the team givin the circumstances.
most everyone on the coaching staff should be commended. it looked bad at the early part of the season. hopefully a good sign for the future of the program.

What's really is perplexing...when Coach Miles a few years back prior to hiring Cam, elevated Stud, our ÖL Coach to OC for one season and it was a disaster. Steve Ensminger was on the staff. Les...What on Gods green earth were you thinking? Why wasn't Steve Ensminger as a very bright ex QB at LSU and successful prior stints as an OC elsewhere never chosen over Stud then?

Ensminger did a good job, no doubt. Much credit to him. But it wasn't rocket science, and I'd argue that just about any coach worth a damn could've gotten good production out of our offense.
And that just goes to show how truly awful Cam and Les were.

Ensminger did a bang-up job considering the circumstances. The fact that Les had Cam calling plays over Ensminger is just another example of Les mismanaging and evaluating his human resources.

Congrats to Steve he did a very good job, school record setting job as interim OC.
I do recall some of you melting down when Coach O picked him as interim OC, but I thought he would do a good job which he did.
And I was glad a hometown guy was given a chance to lead, heck I was thrilled because I knew Steve back in High School when he was QB at Central; he was a good all around athlete and a good guy.
I was surprised he hadn't been working with QB's there, the thing I remember about watching him play QB was his technique even going all the way back to High School was outstanding, footwork, throwing motion, etc., and calmness when under pressure in games.
I do know his Offensive philosophy is a lot closer to Canada's than Miles/Cameron's and I hope to see him remain at LSU.

Good question, I've no idea why in the world Miles did that or why Steve had not been working with the QB's.
Maybe the "man from Micheegan" undervalued Locals on the coaching staff, ignorance? arrogance?

I remember when Pat Lyons got hurt and Charles McClendon put two RS Freshmen on the field to finish the season - Steve E and David Woodley. They were fun to watch and later in their career, Mac would occasionally put them in the same backfield for a trick play or two.
I truly hated how Woodley would eventually die after his days in the NFL.
In Steve's case, the NFL didn't work out for him and he went into coaching. Once again, he stepped up to help bail out the LSU offense, but this time as a coach and OC.
Kudos to Steve. He's a lifelong Tiger and deserves to stay until he wants to retire.
