Really? Coach O gets as much respect as POTUS does in the liberal media with his booming economy and low unemployment numbers! Coach O has done a masterful job of going out and acquiring talent on the open market to address this teams shortcomings. Miles would have remained status quo and we would of had a really bad outcome. Now weather that infuse of talent is enough, only time will tell. But you have to give Coach O credit for being proactive in addressing team needs immediately. This demonstrates he has a handle on this job and is addressing the needs as best as he can with the limitations in college football.

Post shows you know nothing about how the economy, politics, or football.

Thanks for sharing your “ahem” “insightful” knowledge....,

And your way of thinking is exactly why LSU is the way it is today. Mediocre.

I think Kristian Garic is a Squirell but he is right on the money here.

This is crazy, it's almost like people think O has no business running a major program.

I agree with the Trout! To many pussies on this rant. Need to switch to BAMA & suck Saban's balls!

I disagree with the notion that difficult schedules are something foreign to LSU.

how many times during Miles' tenure did you hear the BR and NO types talk all offseason about how daunting the schedule is, despite the fact that 7 of the 12 teams were on last years schedule...and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that...

Well you have to let the season at least start before saying the 2018 Tigers are not a good team.

This is one of the worst posts I have ever read on this entire website. This represents why LA is such a shithole and LSU continues to suffer athletically and academically.

You are correct. Tennessee is definitely on the upswing as the population in the state is seeing unprecedented growth. But, if we're talking about the decline of Tennessee, we have to go back to where the state was, recruiting-wise in the late 2000s, not today.

Look at Lane Kiffin's 8th ranked class. Only 6 guys from the state of Tennessee and 4 of those were in the bottom 6 of the class. LINK

Fulmer's last class was ranked 33rd, only contained 4 4* players and only 2 of those were from Tennessee. That year, there were only 6 4* guys in the entire state, and they were low 4s at that (the highest ranked guy was 161 nationally, and the other guys were, 230, 254 & 295). By contrast, this past Louisiana class, which was "down" according to many recruiting experts had 13 4* players (including the 13th, 42nd & 84th players nationally).

The 2010 class was ranked 7th nationally. Only 2 guys in the entire class were from Tennessee.

Anyway, just scroll through their classes. You will quickly see that if they don't pull highly ranked players from outside the state, they don't usually have a highly ranked class.

I'm not saying we are impervious to a decline, but the Tennessee comparisons are just not appropriate. We have a much stronger natural recruiting base than they had, and not only did they wait a couple of years too long to replace Fulmer they botched their next 3 hires.

I think the more apt comparison would be Texas, only if Texas had gotten rid of Mack Brown a year or two earlier. Orgeron appears, at a minimum, to be a more competent version of Charlie Strong, so I don't think we're going to get anywhere close to the dumpster fire that was Texas football the lat 4 years. Orgeron simply does not have a long enough leash to survive a run of seasons similar to what Strong had.

It started in 2012 when we lost the rematch, then held on to Lester way too long. Then we entrusted the program to one of US. Forgetting we really need a top 20 coach to drive this Ferrari. I hope O and Ens can pull it off, but doubt they will. Who's to blame?? Joe and the Board for not knowing how to hire. Hope I have to eat some crow gumbo and we surprise everyone and win 10. But highly doubt we win 8.

he should stick to reporting on what he knows, the Saints. It is obvious to me he only has a superficial knowledge of LSU. It sounds like he is just regurgitating the nega O narrative that he reads on the rant.

On a board full of awful posts, this one is spectacularly stupid.
I don't want this poster making any decisions that deal with athletics, business or politics...
