Some of y’all have apparently never been bullied by BRPD. If I had the platform this kid has and I felt I had been mistreated, I’d shine a light on it, too. There’s nothing more infuriating than being treated like a dog and knowing you have no recourse.

I had a gun pulled on me by a TN state trooper when I was 17, a year younger than Koy. Guy said he thought we were robbing a convenience store simply because it had been robbed before. We were taking a piss in the woods next to it. (Middle of nowhere) We were a car full of preppy white kids so we weren’t allowed to say we were profiled.

And anyone who went to college has been bullied by police at some point unless all you did was study

Good for you. That’s not the type of situation I am referring to. Most cops are great people and they have a tough job, but you are either naive or in denial if you don’t admit that some of them are bullies.

Usually when that happens, pretty clear they are at fault.

True, but that dosen't necessarily mean the police violated any laws.

I tell you a story very similar to Koy’s and you say that’s not the situation you’re talking about. I guess the story would have read better if I said I was black. And I never said there weren’t cops that are bullies. Did you even read my post?

What if he thinks the cops committed a crime in the way they interacted with him? A badge doesn’t put someone above the law. I swear some of y’all really creep me the hell out.

Did you even read mine? All I am saying is that I have personally had encounters with cops who are bullies. If that’s what this situation is, he should shine a light on it. There are certainly situations where cops could pull guns on the wrong individuals. They have a tough job. Hopefully the body cam footage will clarify for us.

Was the cop who was ousted for making racial comments that would make the poli board cringe a BRPD officer? I've had a few off-putting interactions with BRPD as well (light harassment/smack talking out of nowhere)

At fault" for what? Moore wasn't arrested. From my understanding he wasn't physically harmed.

From what I’ve heard, the complaint is that they somehow “violated” him by unzipping his pants “looking for a gun”. If this happened, BRPD has a problem on their hands. We”ll see...

So your saying BRPD is at fault, yet you have not seen a thing AND you want a kid disciplined for hanging with his friend who plays for another team.

We still have 6 week BUT you are in contention for IDIOT post of the year! CONGRATS

Because the accusations by Moore are that they were had guns drawn on them, stopped, and searched because they were black. By all accounts they were doing nothing remotely suspicious. One of the guys accounts said that they were getting into their car when they were stopped. The only two first hand accounts have been from the two players.

I don't see why their own attorney would seek the footage if the players were responsible for the situation.

They're 18 year old kids. Stupid decisions are expected.

This leads into another conversation entirely. BRPD is the lowest paid police force in the area. The best candidates are going elsewhere.

One reason why police pay was a bullet point this past Mayoral election.

I believe it said they were leaving the lower levels to go to the car. There’s a lot that no one still knows. Body cameras do not show everything. They very well may not have been turned on right away and may not have even shown what the cops saw at the time. Body cameras do not catch everything. I’m sure the attorney wants it released so he can shape the initial narrative about it. That’s what they try to do, but releasing just the video without any other context or explanation is never a smart idea. Then people will just throw out their own opinions and assumptions like people are doing on here.

My thoughts exactly! Attorneys are by far the most despicable of any profession, and it’s not close. If you want to know the cause of your exorbitant insurance premiums, look no further than attorneys.

Then they need to release the video with context and their explanation, which I doubt they can release before they conclude their internal investigation. I guess BRPD came to the conclusion that releasing the video before their investigation concludes would violate the Police Officer Bill of Rights.

I'm kind of on the fence here. I think the video should be released. However, if the officers were in the wrong, BRPD must follow procedures to the letter or the officers cannot be disciplined.
