We stonewalled USA on the goal line on 4th down in our last game
On the season, opponents are 3/9 against us on 4th down. That's one of the best in the conference. Only Tennessee and USC have a better conversion rate as a defense. Conversely, our 3rd down defense is one of the worst in the SEC

LSU's defense isn't this horrible group like some of you want so badly to believe. They have one severe deficiency - safety. Otherwise, it's a decent group.

Hard to say. What does Our 4th down defense look like for the season?
Tied for the 16th-best 4th down defense teams have gotten a 1st down 3 of 9 times.
Tied for 51st on 3rd down defense allowing 21 of 60 1st down conversion on 3rd downs.
I think the key will be keeping them to 3rd and long then 4th and medium or long.
LSU's first down defense is tied at #37 giving up 91 first downs (31 passing, 52 passing, 8 penalty).

If I am an offensive coordinator playing LSU, I would pass every down until I either scored or turned it over.
