I’m not too worried about it because if anybody knows how to coach up a QB and run an offense it’s LK. He will either get Sam right or he will play the next guy up. Kiffin doesn’t like losing and I guarantee you he and Weis are more pissed about last week’s offense than anyone on tRant. This is the first time since Joe Brady was here that we’ve had coaches that know WTF they are doing on offense. I’m looking forward to seeing improvements this week.

Everybody seems to want Leavitt to get benched. Give him a bit, he's going to get himself hurt. Then it won't be an option

Nice post. The Ole Miss game may have done wonders for him. Kiffin will make a change if ge doesn't. I trust him.

Dilin Jones is a very good back who fits this scheme to a T. He's probably going to have a 1k yd rushing season for us.
He's good enough to help Leavitt settle down, since that seems to be what's in contention.

Agreed, Leavitt needs all the help he can get. He’s a monumental headcase that’s never faced sec defenses.

People keep forgetting (or ignoring) that he's brand new to this system, and this team. He doesn't have any familiarity with the receivers. He doesn't have a go-to guy yet; I think he was working on that being Green, but that's gone now. There's no security blanket out there, which most QBs develop- they look for a particular guy that they can count on.
People scream about the NIL money paid, but that doesn't accelerate the process of getting acclimated to a new team. He was out during the spring, really still working his way into things. Kiffin and Weiss clearly think he's the best option at QB on the team, I have no reason to doubt them.
Absolutely would have been nice to get such a high-pressure game later in the the year, but the schedule is what it is.

He might be better than very good. I don’t believe Berry and Durhams absence is as cut and dry as scheme and something is going on there. There is talent there. Jones came in and IMMEDIATELY took over meaning he had to have something better than very good in him. Feed him.

I think kiffin and Weiss are smart enough to realize he isn’t the answer and wil cost them their job if they do t make a change.

If he has bad footwork and poor vision in year 4 of 5, then I’d say those are not fixable for the most part. Has he really had that crappy of coaching? Kiffin is a great offensive coach, but he can’t work miracles. If the kid doesn’t have it, he just doesn’t have it. If he gives us the best chance to win, then LK has to play him. It is what it is.

This thread is reminiscent of the JD year 1 - second loss to FSU threads.
SL was a 3 star. He plays like a 3 star that's rusty and returning from injury.
Bottom line, the staff will get the best SL has to give each week and he will improve incrementally as the season progresses. Possibly giving LSU a punchers chance.
CLK year one isn't the big picture.
