He’s not a bad run defender but his athleticism limitations are glaring when he’s put in man coverage situations. Kentucky picked on him and Cooley the most. Would love if singleton replaces him next to dotters on passing downs he flat out cannot cover SEC athletes

He's not good in space. That stack play everyone talks about was a major failure on his part.

But, you have to give Kentucky some credit for this. They played with 12 and 13 personnel all night. That keeps Keys on the field. Then they attacked him.

If all he does is make the tackle in OT instead of playing the ball and failing miserably, LSU probably wins. It's a combination of a lack of experience, a lack of athleticism, and a lack of football IQ.

I agree he should be off the field, and getting matched up against a WR or good TE is is outmatched. Singleton should be given opportunities on 3rd down as well as Jimcoily I believe. 12 and 13 personnel hurts him a lot.

Ugh, I went back and watched the 3rd and 8 in OT and I just don’t understand how he didn’t get his hands on that ball. He read what was happening, and was in good position… i get a pick seals the game and if he just makes the tackle it’s 4th and about 3

In hindsight the play might have been to time it up to jar out the ball just as it arrives but I know that’s easier said than done without getting a flag.

He wasn't close. He didn't have a chance at the ball and completely lost the player.

That's an easy tackle if you read the play right. He finds himself in perfect position. His reaction completely takes himself away from making the play. He could have stood still and made that play.

No. Different issues. Not being in the right place despite your athleticism is different than being in the right place 2 seconds too late.
