More news: Former Oklahoma and Notre Dame defensive back coach/co-defensive coordinator Kerry Cooks is joining the #LSU staff, sources tell @TheAthletic.

Cooks' specific role isn't decided yet, but he'll be an assistant coach on Brian Kelly's staff.

Just speculation.

Why would they announce Brad Davis is staying, but not say the same for Raymond?
Brace yourselves for Raymond's departure

No problem with that as long as Raymond sticks. Maybe Cooks takes safeties and box/hybrid guys, and Raymond sticks with CBs.

With Kelly’s proclivity for giving young up and comers coordinator positions, do you think he’d give Raymond the DC job?

He was the main recruiter for 20+ DB’s that were ranked 25th or higher nationally at their position the last 10 years as well as Jerry Tillery out of Evangel who signed with Notre Dame in 2014. So definitely a great addition for recruiting.

His list on 24/7 shows commits from all over the place too so he’s another guy that can and is willing to get out there on the trail no matter where the kid is

From Dallas (recruiting), team captain at Iowa (leader), played in NFL, coaching career includes two stints as a Co-DC at big time programs.... Seems like a good addition to the staff.. I'm in!

But KEEP RAYMOND or this board IMPLODES!

Looks like Todd Orlando came in as DC and didn’t retain him.
