Thank you for posting that link.

I feel cleansed.

What do they have to potentially get Kelly to compromise on the buyout figure?

The contract may have a clause requiring Kelly to seek employment elsewhere. They could agree to waive that in exchange for a lower payout.
When he named Brian Polian to his staff.

So much is wrong with this team, one can only look at one person as to why..BK, and btw, complementary football is a ridiculous way to summarize a football game. Just trying to sound smart when I truly believe, he has no clue how to improve this team.

BK's use of this term reminds me of a talking point given to struggling politicians by buffoonish junior staffers.

I hate it so much.

jesus christ

I wish we had an ND Board where all the posters who let ND live in their heads could post to their hearts' content. I am sick of reading about ND here.

We are already basically in the playoffs next year

It could happen, but the portal can be very fickle.

Check out Rivals top 10 portal classes last year and look for teams who qualified for the playoffs:

1) Colorado
2) Mississippi
3) Louisville
4) Texas A & M
5) ASU
6) UCF
7) Michigan State
8) Memphis
9) Washington
10) Cal

3 out of our 4 losses, we had the lead late into the 3rd quarter

Pretty sure that is a meaningless stat. The game is 4 quarters long.

Come on man. We would all love that but if Lanning isn’t leaving for Bama he ain’t leaving for LSU

Following a Brian Kelly is a lot different than following a Nick Saban.

I would rather have a bunch of other guys not named Brian or Lincoln.

go look at his hires at ND.

House is an anomaly

Brian VanGorder would like to speak with you on line one.

I didn't mean to be patronizing

Well congratulations--you are a natural.

He genuinely loves ND. Him leaving LSU has nothing at all to do with LSU. And if Brian Kelly is worth his salt, and he is when he puts his full effort into it, he will easily be able to find a suitable play caller. LSU is traditionally a top 10 program in college football. People will be very interested.

What a patronizing load.

We don't need an ND fan coming here to tell us about LSU.

WTF

who would want to come here & work for Brian Kelly if he canned a guy midway though the season

Well, there is precedent. He fired Brian Van Gorder at ND after 4 games in 2016
Why let Notre Dame fans live in your head?
I would add BK's look of bewilderment during the postgame presser to the Ugly.

You must be an epitaph writer. Well done.

Notre Dame people said he sucks at special teams coaching but is an elite recruiter and talent evaluator.

I have been told that while he was a hard-working recruiter at ND, he was not considered elite (he got his reputation by landing Manti Teo, but ND fans I know say that was his only elite commit)

My friends hated him as a special teams coach. They said punt returns were frowned upon by Polian and he coached up fair catches. No clue if this was true.

Although he was their recruiting coordinator, Polian was not in charge of talent evaluation during his second stint there.

FWIW

Kelly won’t hesitate to can the entire staff. He did it when he had a down year at Notre Dame and came back and won 11 games

His job was on the line then. His career hung in the balance if ND fired him.

This is his retirement job and Denbrock & Polian are his longtime buddies. He wanted them to get the payday too.

The great people in Alabama ARE LSU fans.
