How does a big time program's DC not account tor the possibility of that play? Seems to me it's basic football that is taught in pee wee league!

I’m no coach but even I could see what was coming when those receivers went damn near to the sidelines after breaking the huddle.

QB called his own number.

when they empty the backfield, an LB is going to naturally account for him going out. But they had to change the rush and coverage when that happened and it didn't get to the LB before the snap.

It was a blown coverage.

Apparently there was an adjustment that one player got and one player missed.

Why not have a dedicated spy on the QB m these situations? He wasn’t even touched. He could have driven a golf cart through that opening.

The d-line parted like the red sea and KM danced into the endzone

It looked like it was designed QB draw the way the OL created a lane. But it sounds like it was a pass play called and the QB saw the red carpet rolled out in front of him.

Well, you are not going to stop a mobile qb with 4 defensive linemen in that situation. He will find a hole somewhere, you have to have a linebacker on him.

It actually wasn’t called a draw nor was it the audible or key read.

It was just so open the qb just did it.

I figured the QB would run right up the middle.

Would have been nice if at least one defender accounted for him in the middle.

Who calls man to man with 2 deep safety’s on a 2 point conversion? A shitty DC that’s who.

as soon as I saw Keys flex out to the trips side I said QB draw

why would we line up four guys on their three and three guys on their two and leave the middle wide open is a mystery

Keys takes the TE 81 and that leaves Cooley in the back of the end zone by himself guarding no one

Dottery makes three Defenders against their two receivers on the near side and Jhase was way too far off the WR so he is guarding no one

if either Dottery or Keys realizes they are misaligned and one of them moves to the middle, then UK has to throw the ball to WRs facing LSU's Man Coverage with no pick play or crossing actions

you can see right before the snap Dottery realizes something is wrong and lifts his hands up but it is too late

losing Whit Weeks hurts in so many ways

Given the look of the OL, it was a designed pass. We botched it, we needed a timeout or a defensive penalty to stop the play and reset, we did not and our players absolutely blew it. I am not saying it doesnt ulitmately fall on coaches to have them better prepared, but it was a horrible breakdown.

Nice pic, not only did we have a breakdown of our LB and safeties, our DL just took some terrible rush angles, if there was ever a time to just mush it up, it is then.

If just one of our DT would have gone inside in their rush rather than both going outside, that may have diverted the qb into more tacklers. However both went outside just opeing the biggest hole I have ever seen from the 2 yd line in my life. Every QB in America could have walked in. I don't know if LSU had and scream TO before the snap, then we are just incompetent.
