Wade and his defensive approach (or lack thereof) seem to now be inventing ways to become increasingly worse defensively.

Guard starts at the top. Takes two dribbles to the rim and gets our defender on his hip with ease. Helpside comes to the rim from the corner three spot to stop penetration. Guard kicks out to a wide open corner three.

Every team with decent guards do that to us over and over again. We are not quick enough at the point of attack to stay in front and disrupt the offense, especially when we were missing Manning.

Sums up the sec losses pretty well, each one had a spurt or two not too too different.

Infuriating!

This is exactly what happens every single game.

At this point I’m willing to say never leave your man to help penetration. If they get a layup, so be it.

To be fair, the players have to execute the scheme wade puts in. I just saw a video of wade’s post game press conference and he said something along the lines of “the same guy kept making the same mistake over and over again on defense”. He may be talking about watford?? Because he was a liability on defense tonight

I'm guessing either Smart or Watford, could be either tbh

Yep. Watford is a damn good player and plays with a lot of heart, but when it comes to guarding 3s, he acts like he will be electrocuted if he extends beyond the 3-point line to put hands in the ball handler's face.

Wade’s decision to start putting Watford on guards a couple weeks ago has had catastrophic results for us.

This right here, Watford is a big guarding a quicker smaller player doesn’t work

In LSU's last 5 games, 4 of the opponents have shot 40+% on 3s (Kentucky shot 50% even though they were one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the naton). Bama only shot 37.5%, but they still hit thirteen 3s. That's a major problem.

And not only does that put us at a huge disadvantage guarding outside like you said but not having Watford to help on the glass with 6-11 players like Richards has been killing us on the boards. Look at what that one armed worm for Bama did on the glass against us, this is insane. We’ve gone from a great rebounding team to giving up offensive boards like crazy to everyone we play all while our biggest player is chasing point guards 25 feet from the basket.

Watfords rebounds the 3 games prior to Vandy

When you don't play defense good teams will usually make shots
