It really would have been nice to capitalize that inning, but it was a good inning from the standpoint of making him throw a ton of pitches. Over 20 I think.

Can someone explain the logic between sending a runner home on ground balls to 1st and 3rd? I know we've always done this and most teams do so there must be a reason for it but it never seems to pay off.

This team sucks. Undisciplined hitters who have no idea what they're doing and have no heart. Most frustrating and disappointing baseball team I've seen in a decade.
At least I can say that Hess is FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINALLY having a good game today.

I think they're doing it in the hope that the pressure forces a misplay. I think.

Should’ve been a 64, meaning if the ball isn’t hit at SS or 2B, you don’t go.

It hasn’t transferred to runs but barring a couple times we’ve put together some really good at bats.

It doesn’t change much. They have to make the throw home and tag. Otherwise they just make the throw to first and you are still stuck with 2 outs. If it is directly at 3rd baseman, I prefer to stay

I really want to believe that this team will turn it on like it has shown it can do in most years, not every year, but most years.
However, when a guy that was booted from the team for not being good enough, not only rejoins the team and works himself into the lineup but is hitting cleanup, I have my doubts about the rest of this lineup. Kudos to Reid for being a hard worker and showingvsome resilience, but these other guys, particularly the veterans better start leading this team offensively.

in every other opening sec matchup the higher ranked team won. LSU is at home and the higher ranked team. Let’s see if we can keep current misery from yesterday going with no runs in the last half of this game

They’re banking on the third baseman attempting a throw he’s not used to making and not making a good throw.
I don’t agree with the philosophy but that’s the thought process
