Not saying I know the situation, but if he thought a suspension was looming he may have figured it was time to leave. Perhaps the young man has a little maturing to do and dad helped him out. Sounds like he has a smart dad.

If I’m O I’d sure as shite like to know who the hell this LSU administrator is and why he didn’t bother giving him the heads up this was happening. Good on KJ’s dad for shutting that shite down quick and in a hurry. KJ got a little too big for his britches for a second and needed to be shown who was boss. He will thank his father in 2 years.

If I'm O, I'd also take this to the rest of the team and let them know that entering the portal without discussion with him and the staff first won't be tolerated going forward.

Agreed. It’s one thing to enter the portal, that’s their right now, but you at least have the courtesy of notifying the staff first.

Like most people here, this sounds like compliance.
I have experience with the academic side and have never seen anything "contentious"
Honestly, I really hope it was compliance so Woodward can see they do not act with LSU in mind, but they act for the benefit of the NCAA. And then he'll revamp the department sooner rather than later.

He has been bitching about LSU losing the LOWEST rated 3-star players for weeks if not months.
LSU is having to get down to the 85 scholarship limit and this dumbass is crying over LSU processing the lowest rated players from the lowest rated class.

They HAVE to LEAVE. There is a limit of 85 scholarship players you can have on a team. Getting rid of the lowest rated 3-stars from a class to reach that goal is not a bad thing.
LSU is losing 3 tackles and 4 carries. That's it. That is all the production they are losing. Besides those two players the rest never stepped on the field.
with the red-shirt rules they could have played in as many as four games. They didn't. The two carries and 3 tackles all came in one game - RICE.

Based on what's been reported, no it wasn't for attention. It was an emotional response to a meeting with non-football admin. After he spoke with those who actually are looking out for his best interest, cooler heads prevailed.
