re: Kelly’s “very open” QB competition is almost here and is expected to be very competitive

There are two factions in this QB debate. There's the irrational Myles Brennan homer faction who have all emotionally attached themselves to Myles Brennan and at the same time they have all also totally detached themselves from reality.
That faction couldn't give a shite that Nussmeier was the best and most consistent QB throughout the 15 spring practices and in the spring game. That faction wants Brennan to be named the starter regardless because they believe Myles is owed and entitled to the job no matter what and If it costs LSU two to three games, so be it.
Then there is the rational faction who just want the best QB on the team to be named the starter so LSU can win the most games possible.
However, the irrational Myles Brennan homer faction is far bigger and far more emotional relative to the rational faction.
Thus, if someone so much as suggests that someone other than Myles Brennan should be named the starter, the irrational Myles Brennan homer faction turns into almost a violent cancel culture gang on steroids. As they will irrationally rally together to relentlessly emotionally attack the rational faction member who made the mistake of suggesting someone other than Myles Brennan should be named the starter, so that rational faction member will learn to keep his freaking mouth shut forever or else.

I think this is the first time you actually wrote a new comment. Normally in these threads you just copy and paste your old shite.

You misunderstood the sentence.

You’re a broken fricking record on this point.

I’m almost certain brennan will be penciled in as the starter but that we’ll see more than one qb play this year depending on the situation

Like a shitty britney spears broken record, not even a good one.

I just have a hard time believing we trot MB out there. Not after what I saw in the spring game
He had 11 TDs and 1000 yards in 3 games in 2020. Why do you value a spring game with a limited roster vs 3 actual games that he's played in? And before you say "he lost 2 of those", LSU gave up 40+ points in both losses.

My response has nothing to do with what I feel should happen. Only what is most likely to happen based on Kelly’s history and common sense in regards to a RS Freshman so you can save it.

That’s cool, you have an opinion on the matter. This is about will likely end up happening not what YOU want to happen.

LSU had no defense, it was giving up huge plays and had no running game, even Burrow would be pressed to succeed in that scenario. Then we have Nuss who is a relentless worker, fighter and leader, and we have a cat quick QB in Daniels who would surely earn a bunch of playing time if he’s fixed his mechanics to where he’s a reliable passer. Going to be an exciting fall practice, I don’t know if the Rant can survive a truly heated QB battle.

I know, and Woodley led the Miami Dolphins to the SuperBowl despite never being a starter at LSU. Is this group that talented?
Woodley was a better quarterback than Ensminger. That is a fact.

I’m simply giving the most sensible, and likely, scenario. Why would Brennan get the start, with Daniels being the gadget, when Nuss can do pretty much what both of them can do? Unless he completely implodes during camp, Nuss will be the starter day 1.

LSU’s defense is going to help decide which QB will start.

Charlie Mac always ran a 2 QB system (incase one went down). It didn't work out. He'd alternate QBs on each series and pull a QB when he was hot in a game, just to get the other experience. Very frustrating.

Our defense being bad makes those stats mean less. Especially considering they gave up a ton of quick scores but actually forced turnovers at a good margin. I notice no one ever points out how many attempts Brennan had in those games. But the whole year was a shite show, he was doing good. But to just post the yards and tds does far from tell the whole story.

Kelly has played two quarterbacks, he seems to never settle on one.

Wonder what his stats would be if the team had a defense equal to the 2019 defense. A few stops and he would have had several more opportunities per game to increase his stats.

dude, take some deep breaths.
15 spring practices along with a spring scrimmage don't mean diddly. CBK even stated there was no clarity afterward. no one expects him to show his hand but nothing gets determined based on the spring except revealing they each have strengths and weaknesses.
