There has never been a QB competition. Daniels was promised the job to get him to transfer. Myles saw that and exited
Howard and Nuss are likely gone too. They can look back at Kellys QBs and know that he wants a QB that runs one time for every 2 times he passes the ball. Its all in the stats. Its Kellys safe zone

Comments like this is a perfect example of why this board is insufferable. You think Kelly, who has immense pressure to turn a program around, told Daniels, who threw for 10 tds and 10 int the year prior at a PAC 12 school that he was guaranteed the job? Over 2 guys who had already been part of this program, one of which i believe would have been a 5th year senior with a big arm? That is the kind of stuff Orgeron would have done and i doubt he would have even been that stupid. Daniels just beat everyone out. It’s that simple. Will he do it again? Not sure. But to say Kelly promised Daniels the job makes you look like a complete idiot. Just wow!

Kelly just repeated the SAME EXACT THING about next year
Why is that so hard for you to believe for last year?
Everyone saw film of JD at practice. Everyone saw his Spring game performance. Everyone saw the coaches allow him and the WRs to sneak off away from the other QBs during off season workouts. Everyone heard it was QB1a and QB1b, yet Nuss never saw a meaningful down during the regular season

He averaged over 200 yards passing in conference games this year so I agree with your statement.

We just witnessed the second-best single season for an LSU quarterback (better than Rohan Davey, Joe Burrow’s first season, and Jamarcus Russell) and half the fan base wants him to transfer or be benched.

Because when he is too conservative most of the time, and when he does decide to send one down the field it is throw too late. The last two times his backup came off the bench it was like a completely different offense was on the field, faster and more lethal. Nussmeier gives you that quick strike ability that Daniels lacks in his game. I guarantee you DC's would be more worried if #13 was the starter versus #5.

There's a near 0% chance that all 3 QBs are on the roster come game 1. That's the reality of modern college football. Of the 3, the odds are it will be Nussmeier who transfers out.
Daniels is QB1 right now, and I don't think Nussmeier can do much to change that.

The fact that the only scholarship QB Nuss has beaten out in his tenure at LSU was Walker Howard this year is all the indication anyone needs to realize that barring an epic collapse or injury, Daniels will be the starter vs FSU on the Sunday before Labor Day.
