I think this team played above their capability and heads most of the year. Last night it wasn’t there.

But on a positive note a lot of players got to sit out and rest last night!

I thought LSU was supposed to be in better shape and that would show in the 3rd and 4th quarters? We are missing input from both coordinators. Would be nice to hear their comments.

The energy was lacking. Truth is guys the team is just flat worn out. A lack of depth, young players and those not used to SEC ball. Coach has gotten a lot from them but not much gas is left in the tank.
after only 9 games?

I realize that Arky was always going to be a big emotional letdown, but after that? We should've been ready to go - especially against A&M since we had a shot at the playoffs if we win out.

I don’t see it. The secondary will have to be rebuilt again

I see it if Ricks and Toviono commit. Those two guys are talented enough to earn starting positions as freshman and man up on the boundaries.

Helluva observation there. Kelly deserves immense credit overall for the season. A&M were playing their biggest game of the season with a few returning players, at home. Daniels has taken some punishment this season, and as you said, these guys overall are worn. Off-season, the additions in recruiting and portal will help with more depth, more time developing further chemistry, and LSU will be truly contending in short fashion. 9-3, at the top of the SEC with wins over Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, all of whom are likely to finish out as top 25 teams, Alabama and Ole Miss at the time, top 10. Quite a feat for year 1. Look out in the upcoming weeks for recruiting as well. Possible additions of Ricks, visit of Harbor, transfers, and then some. Last night was a major punch in the balls, but Tigers are in great shape, overall.

I think we can all agree this team has overachieved this year. It has been fun watching them improve from week to week and slowly come together. Considering where we were when BK took over, what he has done is impressive.

Going into the game yesterday a lot of people were seeing A&Ms record and thinking that we won the west, there was no way we would lose to A&M, but it was A&Ms bowl game. We are still a young team.

The thing I like about BK is that he isn't going to feed you a bunch of bullshite. We will have a pretty strong recruiting class, I am sure we get a few players in the transfer portal and I do think the program will start to re-establish itself as a program that will always be in the hunt for making the playoffs (well we were always in the conversation for playing in a NC for awhile, but of course that was before the playoffs).

Im excited for the future.

You’re correct OweO. Kelly is building a program and year one was successful. Hopefully, the returning starters can build confidence and get better the next few seasons. I think that we all feel like the program will get stronger over the next several seasons.

Yes and as far as recruiting is going especially DL right now, we do have the best DL in the nation playing as RSFr in Maason S

We lose like the entire secondary. It will be a bunch of transfers again. I don’t think we’re better next year

Looking at things with a bit of a historical context, this is starting to look like the post Katrina/Rita team of 2005...by the time they got to the championship game, they were worn out,

this is a similar situation considering where we started out with in January of this year...this team can only get better with time and more depth...hopefully a couple of weeks off before the bowl game will help tremendously...

Last night was really frustrating but I'm proud of the team's growth YOY.

Coming in, CBK ran off the troublemakers and nonhackers, stabilized and rendered professional the entire program, and is now building on those results. There will be setbacks.

If you'd told me going into this season we were going last-to-first at 9-3, winning the SEC West, beating Bama, and going to ATL for the big game I wouldn't have believed it. They've really done a great job.

That said, our three losses were all really horrible to watch and borderline embarrassing. We're much better, but still have a lot of work to do.

At this point of the season, such a "wrong thing" necessarily cannot happen with a good coach. It simply cannot. BK needs to ask what is wrong with the most important position on the field. There must needs be a change.

Agree 100%. If you watched the Arkansas game we were not superior in any facet other than they never thought to block Perkins who is fast as hell. Other than that not sure if folks noticed their 3rd string QB came in and instantly started completing 12 yard outs, something our offense can’t seem to do. The book is out on us and basic, straight ahead football is good enough to beat us (last night; see)
