It came across as a bit arrogant, but in context he was speaking over the fan base and directly to recruits and potential transfers.
This class has had a lot of external pressure put on them especially after Underwood bailed. The buzzards flew in and tried to poach several of our biggest recruits. He also very publicly stated we would be a player in the portal this year... aka Open for Business

It seems like people created this false narrative in their minds of him being checked out and losing the team and are now realizing none of that was true.

If he goes into Clemson and wins next year he’ll have my attention. If we go in there and lose by two scores he will be 0-4 to start seasons at LSU.
