His 7 losses against:

Fla St
Tennessee
7&5
UGA
Fla St
Ole Miss
Bama

Three of those losses given up to teams currently ranked in the top 4. One of which is two time repeat Champ. Another loss to a team that is certainly expected to be top 6 on Tuesday, and owns the greatest CFB coach of all time. Two really bad losses to 7&5 and Ole Miss.

The last game before CBK was hired was a bowl game against Kansas St with a WR playing QB and 41 scholarship players (I think?). The program has vastly improved since.

My confidence in winning two more conference games this season is low, especially with Daniels likely out. But, here soon we will look up and be in Atlanta year in and year out. With a larger playoff surely incoming I beleive we will be a playoff team every year. We lost a big battle but we are trending up to win the war. Geaux Tigers.

Kelly was 4-11 vs top 10 in 12 seasons at Notre Dame.

Brian Kelly is currently 2-4 at lsu vs top 10 teams.

That's the problem with the SEC. You are always going to have multiple games vs. Top 10 teams, esp. with Oklahoma and Texas joining the mix. You have to build an elite program to compete in the SEC year in and year out.

Brian Kelly won more games at Notre Dame than any other coach in the history of their program.

Hoe are we trending up?
Last year we went to Atlanta, this year we won't. With the attrition on offense, next season will probably be worse. That will be 3 years in a row in which we achieve less and less.

I get it. Much easier to just be happy! Hopefully we won't have this predicament here soon...

Certainly enough of one to not warrant $10mm/year.

Agreed. Remember when BK arrived here at LSU there were 39 scholarship football players. O lost his mind after 2019 and that is a big reason for where we are right now..

insane

you’re telling me in the 2 seasons he’s been head after taking over a losing team with no players he isn’t routinely beating top 10 teams?

This is the key statistic LSU fans should pay attention to. Nothing is going to change those %'until BK changes his ability to evaluate competency in coordinators. I would fire the entire defensive side of the ball when the season ends, and give some hope to our young players/recruits that change is coming in a big way at LSU.
If that doesn't happen, LSU will be a mediocre SECW team for the next decade. Sad but fact.

We are trending up because we were 12-12 in the two seasons before Kelly got here. We won 10 games in the first season alone... Obviously we are better off than we were before he got here.

What we are watching is a man who climbed the coaching ranks hungry to make a big payday at a premier college program. At Cinn he was hungry. At Notre Dame he was comfortable/not as hungry as before.
At LSU he’s a neutered cat. He’s made it to the top of what he could do. 100 mill. 10 years. He has no real incentive to be that hungry and emotionally bought in to his job as a coach anymore. He’s living a decadent lifestyle for he and his kids. He doesn’t care. He got his. The man can rest easy and coast on this sweet Jimbo Deluxe deal he’s riding.

His coaching record vs teams with a pulse at Notre Dame sucked. It’s worse now

Honestly you can use what he has done at LSU in 1 and 2/3rds years.

Legit, O depleted this program and Kelly had to rely massively on transfers year 1 and year 2. Year 1 worked out, but year 2 we missed on a lot of guys. These misses mattered because we didn’t have young players developing yet behind them. Last night I was pleasantly surprised to see our younger CBs actually play well.

As we are officially out of the running for everything, start the young bucks you will build with for the majority of the year, let them gain real time experience. I want JD to win the Heisman, but Nuss needs real playing time now for next year.
