This kid was supposed to be a man amongst men, and has disappeared (injuries etc). Does he start in 2021, 2022?

Thank God you started another thread about this. Almost went a whole day without one.

If he can’t get on the field next year, he never will.

I still have hope for him. I think he had a hard time getting over his injury, had some weight/shape issues, and generally just lost some fire. Recovery will come, and the weight/shape issues will go away if the fire re-ignites. The door is certainly open for him, given the depth on the roster and incoming class thus far.

Yes, what happened to that class of linemen? Where is Anthony Bradford? What happened to Thomas Perry?

If Moffitt can’t ignite his fire after 2 years, he’s nonflammable

He is going to do great this year. I am hoping that he gets healthy and works toward being a starter.

I feel the same. He worked really hard prior to reporting for camp before his freshman year. He showed up in phenomenal shape, then got hurt. Had to be somewhat demoralizing. Then without having any semblance of a normal off-season, he just didn't get where he needed to get. He's very talented, he just needs to get his mind right and I'm very hopeful he does.

He wasn't really overrated coming out of high school, but he did put on a lot of bad weight his senior year and it showed a bit in his play.

Honestly, I expect him to start next year.

Depending on how the "re" recruitment goes for the current slate of guards Ingram and Hines, Thomas could see a lot of time in 2021, although Martinez and Bradford look to be ahead of him.

He has time if his attitude and work ethic are good. He had a lot of work to do on his body and technique and was always a long shot to be an early contributor as a result. But people saw a lot of videos of him tackling people in camp blocking drills and didn’t want to hear that.

The way I view it, there's no reason he can't start next year and be dominant. I keep thinking of Tyler Shelvin on the DL. It took him a little longer than expected to start but once he did, he was an elite player. I hope for the same for Thomas on the OL.

To echo the above post, I would wait until next fall at least to write off Kardell. I hope he loses weight and is ready to compete in 2021.

It would be good if his LSU career resembled another big lineman who should get a chance to play in the NFL in the future.

Remember how many fans wondered about Shelvin just a few years ago. He took care of his weight, won the starting job and became an important defensive player.

Given the need on the offensive line, many would hope Kardell could have similar success.
