Those are some of the guys that had a great game or season and then fizzled out.

Not saying Johnny Football is like Maurice or even Collins, he could very well be the best player in college history.

But lets wait until he has played more than one year before we start freaking out about having to stop "Johnny Football". He snuck up on everybody this year, next year will be different. Let's see how he handles it.

Remember w/ his running style, he is one good hit from being out for the year. Rest assure when he is in the open field, he will gets some extra chip shots.

Probably earlier in year but by midway point there was no "sneaking" up on anyone, people knew how good he was.

So you endorse dirty play

no don't endorse it, but dirty hits happens

can't think of Qbs, just examples I used off top of my head

he will play like he played this year, but now some defensive coordinators will have all spring and summer, as oppose to a week to design a defense to try and stop him. So the sneaking up part is greatly diminished.

Keep in mind, he really didn't get hot until about mid to late October. La Tech went toe to toe with him. Beating Bama is what got him attention and Heisman.

Also A & M got better through the year.
This is why I believe in playoffs, A& M is the hottest team, they could have won the whole thing. Kind of like Giants(NFL) last year, got hot at the right time.

I endorse dirty play! (to an extent)

I say morals in everything, but as long as I am not literally trying to gauge the guy's eyes out, it's game on¨¨

This is the best argument AGAINST playoffs, or at least playoffs with too many teams

2 of those guys were thugs, the other had a nice 2nd half of the season, none had special freshman seasons as opposed to:

Herschel Walker, Adrian Peterson and Michael Vick who were all Heisman finalists that arguably should have won it.

He wont be as effective next year IF A&M were to lose the offensive lineman expected but he will still be best QB in SEC next season.

I keep reminding all of the A & M folks around me about another one year phenom who petered out...Taylor Martinez. They swear Manzell is the next coming of Jesus. It will be interesting to watch next year.

Was never a phenom... First Manziel passed for almost as many yards as Martinez accounted for during his great freshman season (Manziel passed for 3706 yards, Martinez accounted for 3809), a higher YPA, more touchowns, and less interceptions. He also rushed for more yards, more touchdowns, and a higher YPC.

Martinez:
Pass
Att Com % Yds avg td int
116 196 59.2 1631 8.3 10 7
Rush
162 965 6.0 12

JFF
Pass
295 434 68.0 3706 8.5 26 9

Rush
201 1410 7.0 21

One of these is not like the other

Name an offensive player better than him?
His stats already are up there with what Cam/Tebow put up during their great years, he won a Heisman, what player is better than him?
